Hi all have a 23 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 and wondering what everyone is getting mpg wise.Reason I ask is I am getting only 11 mpg city.Highway mpg are pretty good if I keep it at 70 I am getting almost 26 mpg unloaded of course.Truck seems to running good it has roughly 12k miles on it.You can almost watch the gas gauge move in the city though lol.Could there possibly something wrong with it?

Same thing going on with the 6.2L here in St Paul. There is more butane in the gas and the air is more dense in the winter. You could add air to your tires if they are a little low.

What I noticed when they first switched over to direct injection in 2014 was that if the vehicle is winter cold  then they run a very rich mixture to get the catalytic converters to light off.   I was always seeing around 10 to 12 mpg on my 15 minute commute.  When I started parking in the garage which maintained around 60° then my MPGs were normal around 17 to 20 on the same commute.  On the way home of course if it was still below about 40 gas mileage would still suck.

My 2014 Silverado 5.3, 2017 Malibu, 2019 Lacrosse and 2020 AT4 6.2 all did the same thing.  My 2007 Lucerne had identical mileage in the winter as summer.

Sounds like a lot of stop/go driving or heavy traffic driving.

I don't bother to see city or highway MPG, just average per tank and then maybe long trip MPG.  My 2022.5 2.7 (same Turbomax engine just was called HO when it came out) gets anywhere from 17-19mpg per tank from say November to March, April to October I get 19-22mpg per tank.

What are you averaging per tank instead of the 11mpg city?

Out of the last 5 GMCs I've had all with the 5.3. Any speed over 65 the mileage is not very good. Plus any time you use the remote start the MPGs o the dash at least will drop like a rock. Is the numbers you are seeing from the dash readout or hand calculations? I'd verify what you seeing manually 1st.

I average between 19-20 mostly highway, at 75mph. If I do more around town driving it drops to 15-17.

Rolled 120,000 miles today on my 2.7L

Stops and starts and lots of speeding up and slowing down, with some idling mixed in makes for terrible mileage.

If the city traffic is such that steady speed can be maintained, the mileage can be ok.
