Battery is about dead. I change these on my vehicles myself, pretty simple to do. Go on Amazon and order some new ones you can get them for around $20 - $30 for four. They are vehicle specific so make sure you get the right ones. You'll also need the relearn tool usually about $10.

so you change the whole sensor and not the batttery?  ive never looked at them. only issue i would have is rebalanceing the wheel to the rim if i do it myself..

Right you change the whole valve. You only have to break the valve side of the tire down. If you don't rotate the tire on the rim no need to rebalance.

You replace the whole sensor.  Just need to break the outer bead and push it down enough to service the TPM sensor and valve stem.

The others aren't too far behind the first!  BTDT!

I bought 4 new GM OE sensors for $45 off ebay and paid my local tire shop $80 to install them AND balance and rotate the tires for me.  Saved my back.

so how do i know what model i need so i can order it b4  i tear into the tire? i see many options on amazon. there around 50 cdn for 4  and the coding tool is like 18cdn.. did gm always use the same part in the 1500 for the 2018 year or is it a gamble till i pop the tire and look?

If you use Amazon just type in tpms sensor for 2018 Silverado in the search bar and all options will come up. It will say if it fits your vehicle.

I had the same issue on my 2017. The dealership tried to reset the TMPS and no change and they quoted almost $300.00 to replace one of the sensors. The service representative said it is ridiculous what GM charges for the sensors, and he quietly recommended that I get the sensors from eBay. The dealership wanted almost $100 per sensor, but I got all four GM (13540604) sensors for $118.96. I decided to replace all four, so I don't have to deal with this again. You can check the RPO codes that are listed in the glove box. My truck's TPMS RPO code is XL7 (Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor - FREQUENCIES RATING 315 MHZ).

Hope this helps.

Will bad sensors send an abs system warning to the "my chevrolet" app on my phone? The rear 2 sensors suddenly started reading nothing on my 2018 silverado today while I was driving. Got a tpms warning on the dash, but the app showed an abs system warning. Tire pressures are all good.

I have the exact same issue. Sensor went bad and now all of a sudden I get the ABS alert in the myGMC app after driving it. Once the truck sits for a bit after driving, the ABS alert goes away in the app. No alerts at all in the truck. It’s all in the app.

I’m not getting any codes either when plugging in the OBD II reader. As long as I’m not getting any codes or lights on the dash I’m not going to worry about it. Yet.

Tire pressure sensors won't set an ABS light/warning message.  They'd set a tire pressure light/warning.

But if the app has the TPMS as part of the ABS system, that could be a why it shows up under that warning message. Some vehicles may have the TPMS integrated with the ABS/Trac/Stabiltrak but while also being separate from the PCM/TCM reporting. I wouldn't worry about it though.
