Not just a GM thing. Thieves have been doing this with Mopar products as well. Best advice is to keep the keys away from the front door or garage and put them in a Faraday bag so the thieves can't intercept the signal and replay it to the vehicle.

Great post & you nailed it!  This same nonsense has been going on in the Corvette forum too! Please steal my truck & C8, I have insurance!

Time for more panic, where to store keys, & other nonsense!

Why do people capitalize FOB? It's not an acronym.

Next, they'll sue for the decades of easily duplicated physical keys, and only having a limited number of cuts. Nobody remembers Chrysler keys, or keys for Saturns? Maybe they'll sue for the ease of being able to punch one of those old door locks or ignition cylinders.

I guess your vehicles don't mean anything to you and you don't care if someone violates you and your personal property.

Hold up now, I didn’t agree to be violated!  I would never agree to be violated especially for my cars!

No I really don’t care if someone steals my cars, like I said PLEASE DO!

Put your tinfoil hat on & put your keys in a faraday bag!

Anyone taken good measures to prevent this on your truck? I want to hear suggestions

You can google how to prevent relay attacks on key fobs. There are additional considerations with RFID keys. If you have a GMT with a keyed ignition and locks, just don't use the remote.

The big one that people seem to miss often is to not be a more attractive target than the next truck. Park it inside if you can, don't leave valuables in it, don't leave it unattended in bad areas if you have a better choice.
