Exhaust

I am a new truck owner (first time for a full size silverado). I've noticed that many other trucks on the road, have a much throatier (if thats a word) sound to their exhaust. I'd like to increase my rumble, but not to the point that the neighbors eight houses down can hear it when I hit the gas. Are there any mufflers ( I don't want the entire exhaust) that anyone can recommend? I realize that horsepower gains may accompany the rumble, but I'm more focused on a little louder heavier sound.

We don't do modifications in the dealership so you're asking in the wrong place. I have no experience with anything like this. Personally, loud mufflers do nothing but annoy me with the drone one gets while going down the highway. I'm sure there are some that aren't that way, but if you put something on and it is, what are you going to do then?

You raise a good point. Thanks for your help.

You might want to list what size truck, engine, etc you have, then post this in a thread for that particular vehicle. Or you can reply here and I'll move the topic.

If its the older 5.0, or 5.7 (assuming you have a half ton), I would recommend flowmaster if you want a low rumble. I have 2.5 inch and it sounds great, and its not too loud. If you got the newer motor, 4.8 or 5.3, I would recommend just cutting out the muffler and putting a pipe there. It sounds powerful without the droaning sound. A lot of websites too offer sound clips of their exhausts under different conditions, I would look there first. Google search exhausts.
