I don't think it was an entirely new console but certainly some of it was replaced. I haven't noticed the difference in size although I had not really paid attention.

mine is totally new the back part of it goes down into a v shape .It wasn't as deep before.

Hey Daddy,

One week post new interior install and thought I'd give a report. You may be happy to know that I think the new fabric is more resistant to gathering lint than the original. Have noticed very minor lint accumilation since the change one week ago. If this trend continues I can live with it and would have to acknowledge your wisdom in keeping an open mind about the change. Not completely convinced yet, but leaning in that direction.

Very cool!

I am also not seeing anywhere near the problems I had before on the bolster sections. The inserts are different so I expected less from them but the bolsters appear to be accumulating less as well.

Has anyone had any luck in the past two months getting their replacement seat covers? I have been calling my local dealer for over two months and he still has not got the new seat covers from GM.

Just talked to my service manager last week about the seats, they were replacing my slip yoke since repacking the grease didn't fix the clunk. They had to get approval from district to order them but it only took 2 days to get one of the covers in so I could give the ok on the change in appearance. The TSB listed about 20 different parts to be replaced including some cushions and trim pieces. The parts manager said the rest might even com in as fast as the first part did but then followed with the "GM wants us to say 1 to 2 weeks" statement. I will keep y'all posted when they come in and get some pictures for ya also.

Had mine replace about 3-4 weeks ago. I will tell you, I was very skeptical, but they are working a lot better. They don't keep lint nearly like the old material. Of course, the center sections are made of the "premium" material so it wouldn't anyway. It took the dealership about 2-3 weeks to get all 18 parts in.

I ordered the seat covers for the Tahoe for use in my 2009 Silverado 1500 w/40/20/40 seats. I just wanted the two 40's covered. I don't care about the 3 cup center console seat as I always have the console down.

They fit great. They look like leather seats. The only problem I had was figuring out how the headrest comes off. I came into the forum here to get that info, because the instructions that came with the covers wasn't that good in explaining it.

I also got the rear wheel well liners and the DIC panel. All is installed and working great.

They are a lot better than the generic seat covers at Wally World or Advance Auto.

I paid 148.00 at the Dealer for the seat covers.

Are you saying GM will replace the seats because of lint collection? The truck is new and I bought it 5/6/09, so maybe I already have the new fabric, but it still collects lint. I keep my cars/truck long term, so covers will work fine for me.

The little I got to read from the TSB it stated the truck has to have been manufactured before Oct. 1, 2008.
