I am having this same issue and didn't realize it was a recall. Has anyone had any luck with getting the seats replaced on new 09's?

It's not a recall, it's a TSB. You have to complain to get it done.

As for your question about '09's, in the post directly above yours it was stated that if your vehicle was produced before October 1st, 2008, you are eligible. If it was built after that date, you likely already have the different material and are not eligible.

From what I have seen some of the 09's have the old covers. One of the service guys went out to check his 09 when I was talking to him about my seats and he had the same style as the 08's but the brand new 09 they put me in for a loaner had the new covers. The new covers have a different material for the insert (the square panel in the middle of the seat). The TSB also said it’s not so much the outer material that is the problem but the liner under it. I will see if I can get a full copy of the TSB and post the latest revision of it.

My truck was made in Jan 09 with the ebony seats.. and I still have this lint problem... I every time I clean the truck and than run my hand along the seat, the lint shows up yet again. I don't know if was fixed after Oct 08, but it sure doesn't seem like it was.

I got an old school lint brush and it works the best but im going to talk to the dealer today.

I had my seats replaced about a month ago. I can truthfully say that I feel that the problem has been licked. Yay!

....just got back from the dealer and they ordered mine today so when i get them in I'll take a picture to show the before and after of it....and i just spent an hour in it with a lint brush so i cant wait for the new covers to come in.

and now its TSB # 07-08-50-018C

I tried getting this serviced today at the dealer and he just told me nothing was wrong with them. Can you post the pictures of the before and after so I know if I do have the seats in questions?

OK--I went to the Dealer today and requested a printout of the "GM Vehicle Inquiry System Vehicle Build", using my VIN number.

It states it's Build Date was 10/27/2008, I bought it on 5/6/2009.

It is coded for AZ3 SEATS,FRONT 40/20/40 and A68 -SEAT, 60/40 Rear Folding Bench.

19C -EBONY & 19I EBONY.

From what I gather, the TSB is for trucks built prior to 10/1/2008. Does this REALLY mean I have the new and improved seats? How can you tell the difference? Where would I actually find the part number of the cover without removing it, if possible.

Anybody know the answer?
