Because all that can be asked or said, has been. If you read the entire thread from page one, you should not have any questions.

Matt and Mike, I had the lint trap seats and I got mine replaced with the new covers and mine are good now. Yes they do collect a little lint, but very, very little. The story I got from my service advisor was that obviously the center section is different, but the sides have a different backing on the material. All that I know is that it is much better on my truck. Here is a picture of my seats, and to be honest the interior hasn't been cleaned in a little over a month and the seats have some but not very much at all.

The reason we chuck shit for beating a dead horse, is well, we can  . It is all in good fun.

66 pages and GM finally replacing interiors tells me it's anything but a 'dead' horse. Of course if I had the money to put a brand new aftermarket leather interior into a brand new 35 thousand dollar truck, I guess I could poke fun at others also...

Actually I only have 25 pages and cloth interior, no money for leather. Did u read every post in this thread?

I thought I'd tell you guys that we are setting up a group buy for Katzkin leather seats. If you are interested, check out this thread.

My first post in this 66 page thread was in February of 08. And thankfully my issue has now been resolved...I just hope everyone else who has this issue gets the same satisfaction.

Well gee, if this is such a big bother to people, we could always have the topic locked...

It's not really the topic that is an issue; it's that pretty much every aspect of the topic has been discussed to nausea and if someone went through and read each posting there really wouldn’t be any more questions. But it is 60+ pages and it could be shrunk down under 30 if all the repeat questions were deleted.

Hold on a minute. Many who have had issues with the seats like to hear updates from owners who had the TSB work done. This issue has also taken a while as GM initially did not have a fix and now seems to have a better solution to the problem.

If this topic or thread does not interest you, there's a simple fix. Don't open it.

I look at the screen and see topics that don't interest me. I don't open those. That doesn't mean I want others who are to stop discussing the topic at hand.

+1

But reading the thread where people do post questions that have already been answered 100 times instead of looking through the thread is annoying.

Ex:

Are you saying GM will replace the seats because of lint collection? The truck is new and I bought it 5/6/09, so maybe I already have the new fabric, but it still collects lint. I keep my cars/truck long term, so covers will work fine for me.

The little I got to read from the TSB it stated the truck has to have been manufactured before Oct. 1, 2008.

I am having this same issue and didn't realize it was a recall. Has anyone had any luck with getting the seats replaced on new 09's?

It's not a recall, it's a TSB. You have to complain to get it done.

As for your question about '09's, in the post directly above yours it was stated that if your vehicle was produced before October 1st, 2008, you are eligible. If it was built after that date, you likely already have the different material and are not eligible.

That is what bothers me.

No good news from GM all parts are on backorder and who ever is making them for them is NOT sending anymore out right now due to GMs money problems!

I just had another 35min. phone call with the GM and they are NO HELP RIGHT NOW!

I have had four new GMC trucks over the years and I can tell you this will be the last one!

And before you all start ripping my @#$ no it is not about the seat covers It is about a number of things. Their lack of customer care was the last straw for me.

Sorry for the rant.

Your frustration is understandable...but bankrupt is bankrupt. GM won't buy parts, or pay any dealers to service claims unless absolutely necessary. Suppliers won't extend trade credit to GM unless absolutely necessary. I have the exact same seat problems and somehow don't see replacing upholstery for lint accumulation as absolutely necessary. Yes, I still do want this fixed, just don't believe this is the right fix.
