Hold the phones guys, I ran MAD*MAX's vin last night and his came up clean (I do a direct copy BEFORE looking at the vin information that I copy over) but now his is NOW showing that it is apart of the paint issue concerns...may have to run any 2008 VIN that came back 'clean' again....

Repost so guys dont miss it (If they dont want to read everybody's Truck Summary Page:

Hold the phones guys, I ran MAD*MAX's vin last night and his came up clean (I do a direct copy BEFORE looking at the vin information that I copy over) but now his is NOW showing that it is apart of the paint issue concerns...may have to run any 2008 VIN that came back 'clean' again....

It looks like we are catching GM as they are updating which vehicles are included and which ones are not....if yours came back clean, might want to repost the VIN within a week or two for someone to double check.....

Well Mike,Not to be an a-hole or anything,but I'm not gonna' run any more VIN's for this,The reason....It seems like all of the 08's I run are involved,And no 07's are.

So basically if you have an '08 you can pretty much rest assured your involved,And if you have an '07 your not.

Well this sucks since my 07 has it. Not bad though, so I can live with it.

Just curious if anyone knows why only '08's would be included and not '07's? What process, plant, materials changed between the model years? Seems weird to me (sorry, I'm six-sigma trained) that since (as far as I know) the only difference between the two model years is time.

I was wondering the same thing,I have no idea why the 07's are not included.

Unless they changed the paint process,or something else in their procedures.

I noticed today that my 08 extended cab has a lot of orange peel. I don't plan to do anything about it since my 89 S10 Blazer looked worse when they got done repairing the paint.

Is there a TSB or something to print out and take to the dealership. They didn't admit to the lint problem until I brought the TSB in for them. I would assume this would be the same case.

Attention: Proceed with this bulletin ONLY if the customer has commented about this concern AND the EI number is listed in GMVIS. If the customer has not commented about this condition or the EI does not show in GMVIS, disregard the bulletin. GM Engineering would like to better understand the customer concerns related to paint. If the vehicle is brought in for a concern of dirt in paint, thin (primer bleed-through) paint, orange-peel or runs in the paint, complete the following steps PRIOR to any repairs being made:

Verify that the VIN and mileage are correct on the repair order.

Make sure a detailed description of the complaint is recorded on the repair order.

If possible, photograph the condition.

Engineering may be interested in physically inspecting the vehicle prior to repairs being made.

E-mail Instructions:

• Include complete VIN, Repair Order Number, Dealer Name, Dealer Code and Mileage

• Description of the condition

• Attach a photograph of the condition

• Send e-mail to: XXX.XXX.XXX

Proceed with Paint repair.
