If you're doing mail order, you're going to get a lot of opinions. A LOT.

Current favorite is Black Bear judging by the amount of chatter around here. Any one of the three would do you fine, as would PCM4Less or any of 1/2 dozen others.

I'd go with Alvin at PCM4Less myself. Knows his stuff AND he's a heckuva lot cheaper than most others.

All 3 are very good tuners. I have talked to all 3 and have a tune from both Nelson and Black Bear. Nelson is good, but his customer service is weak unless you are a local. Justin is BY FAR the best of the 3 when it comes to customer service and personality.

Comparing a properly tuned truck to a stocker would be like comparing a Corvette Z-06 to a Geo Metro.

Ok, maybe not THAT extreme, but my truck behaves like a completely different truck with the Blackbear tune in.

ahh i see, im selling alot of my old stuff for my "mod my truck" fund lol, so far on my list to do, cold air intake, black bear tune, vette servo.

I agree with most ppl on here, the cold air intake is really not worth the money, unless you get a MAF to go with it. I am in favor of throttle body spacers myself, the helix or vortex type, I have installed 2 and like them both. As far as a program, I am on board with Justin at Black Bear, have not steped up and spent the cash yet, butt he will be getting some of mine after my next add on is bought. If you do get a program done, list it on here so the rest of us know what you think of it.

Ask Justin (Black Bear) what he thinks about throttle body spacers on fuel injected engines. :P

+1

Blackbear FTW!

Great guy to deal with (excellent customer service) and the tune is awesome. I think you will like your tune from any of the above, but I have yet to hear a complaint about Justin.

hmm i thought they actually helped lol, one i was lookin at was only 70$ + 15 shipping, and ive always heard throttle body spacers were worthless lol

On anything newer than a 95, they are worthless. TBI trucks can see some benefits because they are basically a electronic carb and it increases plenum volume.

They do nothing on a 96 and newer vehicle except fatten someones (not yours) pockets and maybe are good for 15-20 PHP (Placebo Horse Power).

They also have the uncanny ability to change peoples driving style so they make themselves think they didn't waste their money adding like 20mpg.

Yeah, because if he told the truth, no one would buy his tunes. We'd all buy TBS's and be done with it!
