This morning I had a wild idea and put the air dam back on the truck. My mpg had reall dropped since the tire upgrade... wondering if this will ha have any impact.

I threw mine out

But my commute to work is pretty short, 12 miles, and all back roads. Fastest i hit is 50ish for about 2 miles... do it wouldn't help my mpg at all. I'd consider putting it back on if i was doing 65-70mph highway commuting, but it looks so much better off

I had mine off for about 2 weeks and then put back on because my hood would flutter going about 60 mph down the highway but that was with the leveling kit on so I put the air dam back on and still had the flutter, removed the leveling kit kept the air dam on and said the hell with it.

I was thinking about taking mine off today, but seeing how I get up to 70 mph every day, I guess I'll leave it on.

i ran mine both ways, twice. i dont think that the difference is any more than a half a mile per gallon. i know that it must be measureable if GM took the time to engineer and install it but i think it had more to do with drag coefficient than mpg. i tore mine off once backing out of a bog, that thing should be recycled to make some bed caps that should be standard on a fullsize truck with the other options that are standard.

When doing the EPA testing for mileage, it makes a notable difference. For everyday driving... it can either make a big difference, or none at all; there's a ton of other factors that come into play at that point (in most cases, its minimal)

MPG were the same with and without the air dam for me. But I just put some 20's on with some street thread 33" tires and I think it looks better with the air dam on but with my BFG's in my sig I like it off. It is just for looks for me.

In response to the hood flutter, adjust the bump stops up. My truck did this when it was new and drove me crazy for about a day. I adjusted the stops and haven't had flutter in over 3.5 years.

Hood flutter was in the middle of the hood, I tryed the bumpstop method.

Mine has been off since mile #5. I doubt it would help me any. Some trucks do look better with it on though.

I had mine off for most of the winter after I ripped it off on a snow bank. I did see my avg mpg jump up about 1mpg. That is with roughly 80% highway driving.
