The Chevy trucks at SEMA have been a hit with the forum members, so we are offering up a quick peek at some of what the competition brought this year. First up is the great-looking Ram Rebel X. Mopar wheel flares and 17-inch cast-aluminum beadlock wheels with 35-inch Toyo tires give the truck a tough look. Of course the Rebel packs a 5.7-liter HEMI engine. Added go-fast bits include a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, and a Ram Air duct.

  6. The great news about the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 Concept

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/03/2015
SEMA is a time for putting on the full bling. The show is about after market accessories, and as of late, accessories direct form the automakers. The thing we like most about the Chevy Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 Concept is that it is basically the actual truck you can buy or order from a Chevy dealer starting this Fall.

  7. Silverado Special Ops

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/03/2015
Chevrolet' Silverado Special Ops concept at SEMA starts with the 1500 Z71. The unusual paint scheme is called Razzle Dazzle and was designed 100 years ago by the Navy to help keep ships away from prying eyes. Todd Parker, director of design, Chevrolet Accessories pointed out how the paint makes the Silverado look even tougher than it normally does, saying, “We created light, medium and darker shaded areas within camouflage bands flowing down the hood, body sides and tailgate. That effect gives tremendous depth to the Silverado’s body, while reinforcing the nautical heritage of the unique camo design.”

  8. GM Says Duramax Canyon and Colorado Almost Ready

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/02/2015
It has felt a little weird to have reported that the new 2016 Colorado and Canyon Duramax vehicles would be on sale in October. Because they weren't. GM told us directly they would be back in September, but in fairness to GM, nobody knew how serious the VW dirty diesel cheating scandal would become at that time. We communicated directly with our Chevy Trucks GM contact again today and we were told "The Colorado is currently undergoing the EPA’s final certification process, and we hope to hear something from them soon. Once we have that finalized certification, we will begin shipping trucks to dealers."

  9. GM's Kansas City Plant Votes NO on New UAW Contract

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/02/2015
General Motors' Kansas City, KA plant union membership has voted no on the new contract that its UAW representation negotiated with General Motors. We detailed the contract in our recent story. In brief, the new contract did away with the old two-tier pay system established around the time that the U.S. taxpayers bailed out GM in 2009. The new contract also offered each member an $8,000 signing bonus, profit sharing bonus, and other bonuses. The Lansing Michigan plant voted yes for the contract, with 57% of the members voting yes.

  10. GM workers assemble a great contract deal

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/29/2015
The new contract that the United Auto Workers (UAW) secured in recent talks with GM goes beyond the gains made by the union in negotiations with FCA US (Chrysler). The Detroit Free Press reports that in addition to the gains made by the UAW in the recent talks with FCA GM workers also get double the signing bonuses that FCA workers do ($5,000). Other highlights include the restoration of double time on Sundays, and the elimination of the two-tiered wage system. Workers can now get to $29 per hour in eight years. Workers with just three or more years of service will reach the $29 mark by the end of this new contract. Workers at GM since 2007 will receive a raise of 3 percent in the first and third year of this new contract and 4% in the second and fourth year.

  11. Texas Auto Writers Show No Love For GM Trucks At Rodeo

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/27/2015
OK GM Truck fans, prepare to be pissed off. At the 2015 Texas Auto Writers Association annual Truck Rodeo, GM products did not score first in any category. The new Nissan Titan XD diesel was the overall Truck of Texas. Number two was the Ford F-150, and the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road was the number three overall winner. Just to twist the knife a bit, the Ram came in fourth. In the hot mid-size category, the locally made Toyota Tacoma beat the Chevy Colorado diesel. Let's not forget that a diesel won the overall event, so it is not like Texans shy away from torque.

  15. GM Strike Averted - UAW Wins "Significant Wage Gains and Job Secur

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/26/2015
Shortly after the end of Sunday Night Football (11:43pm) last night, GM and the UAW came to an agreement that will boost wages for UAW members working at GM plants. The Detroit Free Press reports that the two-tiered wage system negotiated during the dark days in the mid-2K decade will be eliminated. That means that all UAW workers will eventually earn $29 per hour. Presently, UAW workers earn about $10 more per hour than non-union U.S. autoworkers. This new agreement will only add to that disparity.

    John Goreham

The UAW has threatened to strike starting tonight at 11:59. The union used a similar approach in its negotiations with FCA US and from the reports we have seen the UAW is getting most of what it wants. As has been widely reported the UAW wants to get rid of two-tier pay structures and in general, a bigger slice of the pie.

Dominos chose to base its new custom delivery vehicle on the Chevy Spark. The vehicle is being developed with help from Roush Enterprises to be exactly what a delivery person needs.

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/20/2015
GMC's Denali trim is a big seller and an even bigger profit generator for the brand, so it is no surprise that Canyon Denali test-mules have been spotted and photographed running around Detroit. Sharp-eyed GM-Trucks.com readers will know that our image above is not a Denali (the grill is wrong). The spy image is over at Automotive News.

  20. Still No EPA MPG Info On GM Diesels - Cause For Concern?

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/20/2015
As of the posting of this short topict, GM's Colorado and Canyon Duramax diesel trucks have not been listed on www.fueleconomy.gov. The site is run by the EPA. Every vehicle in America needs to have its mileage approved by EPA prior to sale. Once approved, the numbers are quickly loaded to the site. GM told GM-Trucks.com directly a few weeks back that all was on track for an October sales release. That is starting look doubtful with just 7 working days left in the month.

To get the most out of this performance machine Polaris needed the best driver it could get to do the driving. It has found that person in three-time U.S. rally cross champion and four-time X-Games gold medalist Tanner Foust. Foust usually does his stunt driving on four wheels, but is thrilled to be part of the upcoming Polaris Slingshot X film, saying "The second I laid my eyes on a Slingshot I knew it was going to be a unique machine to throw around. I'm stoked to show fans what this one-of-a-kind vehicle can do!"
