uh6tdrvr Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I have been contemplating on weather or not to get an iPhone. I like the design but not the apple propriety. I know that there are alot of phones probably as good or better just not sure which way to go but i kindof have it narrowed down between the iphone and the Samsung Captiva.....suggestions?
Stevens03 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The samsung captiva is an awesome phone. My friend just got one.
06_GMC Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Apple software imho is the best out there. But i do have a Droid incredible through verizon and love it. I have incredible service and an incredible phone that works just like the iPhone. Now if the iPhone came to verizon i would be getting one but until then my "Incredible" is a great substitute!
Mckenzie Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Im not 100% sure, but i think its coming to Verizon in january, so just wait till then
KMGZ400 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 i would stay away from iphones, i just dont like them and my girlfriend has and iphone4 and it drops calls all the time, not to metion AT&T absolutley blows in my area and some of the touchscreen buttons randomly will not work. IMO!! iphones are a little to "college professorish" and childish for me.
Matt_ Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I just got the Samsung Captivate.... HOLY AWESOME!!!! Get it! I'm in the process of converting some of my DVD's to MP4s for playing on my phone. Oh, btw, the phone has 16gb internally and i have a 32gb microSDHC card on the way. That's right... 48gb of storage (putting a lot of movies on the SD for when i go on travel) And in case you're still unsure... the Captivate is $30 with an AT&T contract right now at wirefly.com
doverarjim Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 For my $0.02 worth don't do it if you use your phone to talk to anyone. My wife, son and daughter all had to have one so they all got them, and I can not hear them or talk to them about half the time. My son had problems with his and went back to his old phone for a few days and it was night and day diffrence. As far as the other stuff goes I could care less, I just need to "talk" to you not send you a letter.
Zembonez Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Another vote for the Samsung Captiva here. APPLE SUCKS.

I am qualified for an upgrade ~nevermind, i can, it just 69 instead of 30. I like the expandable memory of this on and it seems to be new but pretty good....as far as reviews go

I can vouche for the Droid HTC. It's not as "user-friendly" as the iphone straight out of the box. But once you get it all customized and set up the way you like it...it's a powerful machine.
GasHog369 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 My upgrade thru verizon is on nov 9th... I will be getting the droid X on that day

I like the expandable memory of this on and it seems to be new but pretty good....as far as reviews go That's why i went with the Captivate. I was going to get the Droid-X but it's a bit big with the 4.3" screen AND i didnt want to stay with Verizon. So i was looking at the iPhone4 on AT&T but don't like the $300 (w/2yr contract) price tag for the 32gb version. Then i heard about the Captivate and started doing some research. In most reviews it ranks as high as OR BETTER than the iphone4. It has an awesome 4" screen... so its not as massive as the DroidX but it also has a notable edge over the 3.5" screens on the Incredible and iPhones. When i got my phone, it was $60 from wirefly... i couldn't pass it up (two days later it went down to $25 though ) It's very easy to use and the customizing features are awesome. I have all 7 of my screens setup
az'03Silverado Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Just don't get the Samsung Impression. P.O.S. I'm thinking about the Iphone4 but I hate how ATT doesn't allow user reviews on their website. They have user reviews for every other phone except Apple. Makes me wonder why. I've been with ATT wireless for 12 years so I don't plan on changing but I am looking for another phone besides my Impression after only 4 months with it.
GPGuy Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I've got a Blackberry and absolutely love it! Would not trade it in on an IPhone and it's not because I don't like Apple products because I started using their computers a few years ago and will never go back to another PC again.
