Its Crazy What People Put Their Vehicles Through

My mind is a never ending cycle of thinking gears, i notice that most people on the road treat their vehicles like they bought them from a gumball machine(i'll add examples below) i've also noticed that ALOT of people will drop big bucks on a nice ride and treat it like ass (again i'll add examples)

1) driving it like you stole it, you know the guy going pedal to the floor every light

2) overloading, i can't count on both hands the number of times i've loaded a nice vehicle down to the point that it was inches off the ground

3) making no attempt to avoid road impuritys, i see people going 65 straight into potholes..if i dropped big bucks on a nice car the last thing i would be trying to do is bash the suspension

4) making no attempt to keep it clean or protect the body...you know the guy that dosen't give a shit what happens to the paint or body of the truck

5) last but not least, the people that think that if you change the oil it will last forever....i once had a lady come in with a duramax and it was unleashing a smoke screen out of the tailpipe, she claimed that the truck was a pos..it was an 07

6) the people that don't ever change the oil(ties in with 5) this is specially big with women i've noticed, i don't know if its a lack of knowledge or laziness but jesus is it really hard to get your oil changed? really hmm slowly ruin the motor or pay for a 30 dollar oil change...

moral of this thread is that some people don't deserve nice vehicles...i don't care if you have billions or you give bjs on the corner for 10 bucks, if you spend money for a nice ride maintain it if you don't want to you probably don't deserve it

I hear ya on this one, i work hard for what i have, although i do use it rough sometimes, I maintain my trucks, atvs and bikes well, always have. It makes me cringe every time i get in my buddies '10, thig is beat to a pulp, scratched, dentedc tires buurnt bald, interior pretty much ruined, ect.. It sucks to see someone ruin a prefectly good automobile, but i guess theres nothing you can do but let them waste their money. JMO

I saw this BMW X5 in a parking lot, 2 low tires, tires were shot, all rims had curb rash, scrapes and scratches all over the vehicle, burnt out lights all over, mirror housing had missing chunk, missing BMW emblems.....Id say the thing was an 08 or higher model......then the asian lady that owned it jumped in and it all made perfect sense...

I'm guilty of number 4 i guess. I use my truck quite a good bit and as a result it gets alot of scratches and gets dirty a whole lot. I just dont see the need in washing it if its going to get dirty one week latter? however if i had a new truck i would pay better attention and not get it as dirty, but with 196K miles on it i don't worry to much

if it's not your truck why care?

I don't treat my stuff like that, but I work hard for my paycheck and am very particular about what I spend my money on, spending money on needless repairs because of neglect or abuse is stupid IMO.

But most people do not think that way, they buy a vehicle and think it is just a way to get from point A to point B and disposable like everything else in their lives. The vast majority of people do not repair things anymore, if it breaks they buy a new one. They don't give any thought to what they pay for stuff, they just buy it for the sake of buying it, using credit or someone else's money then filing for bankruptcy and let the tax payers pay for their idiocy..

Their parents were not taught the value of a dollar or to respect their (or anyone else's) property, and hence they have not been taught and they will not teach their children, and there are more of them then there are of those that grew up with a sense of morals and values.

Before I moved, my truck was getting trashed constantly, just by using it. But that's why I bought a truck, a car wouldn't hold up to the environment that I was driving in.

With less than 5k miles on it, I was in the dealer demanding that they replace the tires under warranty, since I had gotten 3 flats and two blowouts. They claimed that I wasn't driving the truck in a way that Chevy intended, I claimed that they put the crappiest tires they could find on the truck before selling it, and those tires weren't fit for a truck in the region that it was sold in. All I was doing was driving to/from work on public roads at that point. Many of the roads in Montana were extremely rough, and beat the hell out of my truck. But like I said, that's why I bought a truck instead of a car.

i see a lot of brand new escalades/suburbans/denalis with curb scrapes all over the rims and tires... its a shame someone could be so careless about such nice vehicles..

but there are more important things in my life to worry about then people who treat their vehicles like shit

Hold up... what a minute, you were at the Chevy dealer and demanded them to replace the tires that you tore up and then blame Chevy for putting cheap tires on your truck because there not tough enough for your region? Now thats funny.

One thing that always makes me shake my head is people who don't clean bird crap off of their car. Not only does it ruin the paint, but the idea of having feces on your car is disgusting.

no this wasen't a late night drinking thread, more of a thought on the drive home..does it make me worry what other people do to their vehicles? no...but it makes me disgusted on so many levels...wasted money, wasted materials to make the vehicle all to just be thrown away...and americans don't understand why they are hated so much
