i wonder if bass pro would have them? closest cabelas is 5 hour drive from where i live, but cinncinnati and louisville are both about a two hour drive and i find myself there a few times a year. look like a good investment for sure.

I ordered mine online and had them shipped. The stores (I visit the hammond store in NWI frequently) have a limited supply. Plus I used a $20 off coupon at the time.

You go to Northern Wisconsin for a Cabela's? There's one just over the MI/OH border in Michigan which I would think is closer to you.

No, Hammond Indiana. They built a store there a few yrs ago. Its about 2 miles from my parents house

That may be true in some situations however I paid nothing extra for these Z71 headrests. In fact, I wound up paying only $28k for this $37k (sticker priced) truck, (after all of the rebates) and that was before they deducted the blue book trade-in allowance for our 2003' Blazer.

 

Now I admit that we were a little pissed when we found out that we had to finance the truck through GM's Bank (Ally) in order to get the rebates. They charged us 5.95% interest so a couple months after we bought the truck we refinanced the truck through our local credit union for only 2.49% and reduced the overall interest cost by thousands.

 

 

They get your money one way or another but sometimes you can out smart them.

When I bought my 2009 GMC Sierra Z71, it was plane jane, except it came with GM window visors/rain guards. Now they did have, at the dealer, a truck that they called a special edition Z71 or somthing like that. It had Z71 floor mats, Z71 logos somewhere on the seats, electric sliding window on back glass, and special 18 inch rims. (mine came with 17 inch rims) The sticker price on this truck was about $10,000 higher than the sticker price on the truck I purchased. And I think you can still find this truck as an option on the GM/Chevy website. Both trucks by the way were 1500's , but this one had the 6.2, mine has the 5.3

There is no "special" Z71 edition. There is the Z71 Appearance Package, and the GMC All Terrain Package that is OPEM, that's it. Special 18" wheels? The ywere probably just switched out with the GM Z71 wheels. Dealers do stuff like this all the time to make a buck. They have local companies do the work they want and jack the price of the truck up after the ymake their own little fancy window sticker.

 

 

It would be nice if GM offered headrest embroidery from the factory though.
