She is pretty good, only reason why she doesnt like the car idea is she thinks I will spend more time in the garage

Mine's the same way. Well, except for when "spending time in the garage" puts money in the savings account. She doesn't have one issue with it then because she sure does like those vacations and toys that get paid for out of that

account.

An analogy, if I may:

Wife: I think I want a new fridge.

You: I think I want a 60" flat panel TV, with a Klipsch surround system.

See the pattern?

Have you tried just telling her minivans aren't cool?

Over the years my wife has had 3 minivans. She drove it and I drove my truck. However I have to admit that there are times now that I actually miss not having one in the garage. I could haul stuff in it that wouldn't fit in my truck and if me and a bunch of buddies wanted to go to a game or somewhere else we could all travel in comfort.

1 - I'd "let" my wife get a minivan in a heartbeat. In fact, I've tried to talk her into it a couple of times. They're DAMN handy for hauling kiddos and stuff. I rented one and put a dang refrigerator in it! All sorts of gadgets and doohickeys that cater to a family...*I* wouldn't drive one, but I wouldn't mind at all if she got one.

2 - ZL1? Really? For that money, get a two year old Z06! Or a brand new LS3 Vette! I guess you're wanting the back seat though. In which case I say...GET A CTS-V!

2 - heck yea. its going to be an awesome car. Did you see it beat the Z06 lap time at nueremburg (spelling?). Just scared about pricing right now, i see it hitting in the 60's then I will have to say sorry to expensive.

CTS-V wagon would be cool

I did see that vid...I've driven one too...Fantastic cars. I wouldn't actually buy one though. Corvettes aren't my thing. CTS-V though? I'd rock that wagon in a heartbeat!

My wife is doing the same stuff your wife is too...

Her: "I want a Nissan Rogue"

Me: "You just bought that Camry about a year ago"

Her: "But it's my money"

Me: "Okay, but...When the Avy is paid for (about another year), I'm buying another go-fast toy"

Her: "What about the GTO?"

Me: "What about it? I'm not gonna sell it!"

Her: "You don't need another toy!"

Me: "But it's my money!"

Her: "..."

You do know that if it has been any length of time (90 days), that previous convo is not at all applicable, right? Hell, I've NEVER been married and can tell you that! LOL.

GOOD CALL MAN!!!! my woman wants a god damn toyota sequoia!!!! its never enough, nothing i will do is ever enoughd. she drives one of the nicest trucks in our small little town, one of the nicest houses, nicest rock on her hand but mine doesnt work shes a stay at home mom. those toyota things are expensive!! we test drove one and holy man they are nice but the price tag wasnt!!! i told her we will compromise and wait till i see a Denali HD next spring at a decent price. (2011) ahahahahh

our argument all the time is...what i do is easy (work 3000 kms away, 200 hours in 2 weeks and come home for two weeks)...its sooooo much harder to stay home and take care of the house

my favourite convo we ever had is

her-one day ur gonna come home and your gonna see a new SUV in the driveway!

me-why? how?

her-cuz i call the shots! lol

me-you still need my signature to call the shot!

Kids suck, my wife rolls in this:

In all seriousness... how much longer until the kid can kinda climb up themselves and help get in their seat? I can't see losing/spending thousands just to swap vehicles for a few inches. To me that sounds bat shit crazy. Install some running boards on the Tahoe? Try to find a child's seat that has a lower seat bottom? My wife has already told me that when we buy a family car she wants an Equinox because "there's no way in hell she's driving some ugly ass soccer mom mobile." We plan on trying in a couple years. We'll keep my Z71, and we'll share the mustang/equinox depending on who needs it that day.

Best of luck man. All that's left are Chrysler/Nissan/Toyota/Honda and none of the last 3 would ever see my driveway. Dodge is cancelling the Grand Caravan next year in favor of the Town and Country as the only option as they want to sell Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep all at the same dealership without overlap.
