GF Chips High Performance

I would not do it, in order to have your vehicle "dialed in" you need to have it run on a dyno, with an experienced turner manipulating the various data bases, optimizing the settings for YOUR vehicle.

I have a 2001 Z28 (Sara) which was dynod after a performance TC change. For one, the A/F ratio for WOT was set to 13.2:1, and the referenced 14.7:1 is only set for vehicle idle. A MAIL IN TUNE WILL NEVER GIVE YOU THE PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT YOU SEEK.

Just my .02

I was thinking that if I could get 4 mpg more with my 5.3L as they advertise, I could go an extra 80 miles further on each tank and save an average of $16.00 each tank.

I am not interested in gaining performace or power since I drive mostly unloaded anyway.

Fuel savings, if possible would be my only goal.

No wya yo uwill get 4MPG, that's BS!............Can't believe people buy this stuff. Do they include the "Tornadoe" as a free gift to boost MPG even more?

EDIT:

Just checked out their website and this is not a tune, it's a resistor. that tricks the computer It splices into your MAF sensor.

They have just about EVERY make and model car listed there. There is absolutely NO WAY they spent time testing and tuning every care they have listed, not possible IMO. This thing is nothing but a waste of money!!!!

No Tornado. They do have the magnet that clips on the fuel line thus aligning the gas molecules and allowing the fuel to burn more efficiently. Only if you order in the next 24 hours!! LOL

Seriously I would not waste my money on a device such as this. If GM can't do it then I'm certain these people can't. Come on a V8 that got 4 mph better with the same power would sell so fast they could not keep them in stock I bet.

I have to admit I did indeed fall for the Tornado hype when it came out, but a couple of years ago I found one of those magnets real cheap ($5 I think) and decided "what the heck". Yup, it's cheap, yup it's easy, yup it ate 10 minutes of my time that I will never get back because neither did SQUAT!! So now I have GMT to help to never fall for the hype again because I saw the same website for these chips and "thought" about it...but I'm over it now...thanks all.

It's a joke for sure

It never ceases to amaze me how people can fall for stuff like this. If making a sensor read higher or lower all the time worked, why would the manufacturer not just recalibrate the sensor and pick up some free mpg to help their CAFE numbers? Is it just the tinfoil crowd that falls for this stuff?

SInce I've worn the "pointed hat" a couple of times in the past, I can say that it's hard to tell what is "for real" or just snake oil on some of these products. These companies put a lot of money and talented actors into really making products "sound" great.

I agree that the companies that do this have some good ad guys working for them. But, like any other advertised product, the last place I expect to find the truth is in the ad for it. And with anything that is for performance, nothing is free, and the car manufacturer's have found all the cheap easy power and economy tricks. And that 150mpg carb that was discovered in the 70's and hidden by the oil companies, is outdated now by efi.
