^+1. It's probably a great feature for some but I don't want to get into a situation where I'm counter steering a slide or something else and all of a sudden I'm fighting a computer as well at the same time.

Exactly, and I never use auto 4x4 because that's dangerous too.. A guy at work bought a new f150 the 4wd kicked in on a patch of ice and when the tire grabbed it threw him off the road.

Stablitrack.....

My problem is the worlds relentless "need" for it... here' s an idea... learn how to drive.. Most people suck at driving anyway but if you make them learn on something that has it what happens when they don't..

And the fun part. Stabilitrack is awful on ice... why? It kills power to everything instantly and then it uses the brakes to try and straighten you out... Brakes don't work generally as they usually get you into the slide to begin with. Fine on a dry highway with available traction but on ice the wheel just locks and doesn't help. I proved that over and over in my old 09 and made it automatic that I would hold that button for 8 seconds ever time I started and drove it. But at least you could do that...

These stupid new trucks now automatically kick it on above 30 mph and you can't shut it back off.... No thanks..

Wheel spin and speed are needed now and again... 4wd or not and that is an absolutely useless feature to have.

I said on another forum that if it takes killing the abs on the truck to counter it for winter time driving... so be it.

Good example was getting out of my yard with a trailer. I needed wheel spin and 4 wheel drive to get the trailer out... never would have did it with a 2014. Wow... thanks gm.

Why does this state own plow trucks if they don't use them? 45 minute drive to visit friends took 90.

I've wondered that here too. Tons of brine down but they don't blade off the slush, which may freeze. I'd rather drive on snowpack than corrosive slush.

Michigan sucks terribly at plowing roads i never see a plowed road
