Corolla. Whatever. Stupid little cars aren't worth looking up the correct spelling.

My wife loves her 2009. Wanted one after being in a bad wreck in her friends(Bounced down a center highway wall at 75, every body panel was damaged). She likes driving small cars(thinks my car is too big....)

Its been completely solid, beside not starting one time under warranty, towed to dealer and the ecu was blank or something. Tech was dumbfounded. They reflashed it and it started right away.

Next time getting a Mazda 3 though. Toyota has started completely ignoring new tech. I'm amazed they out LEDs light on the 14s. The not yet on sale new Highlander will have their 12 year old V6 and a five speed auto in the 45,000 model.

Hopefully my AFE intake comes in today and I can pick it up from my distributor's warehouse. I have an AFE exhaust sitting there waiting on the intake so I can come bring them back home.

Took mine in this morning to get a door ding fixed at a local paintless dent repair guy and man he did an amazing job! Like new again!! Now its tucked in and we drove three hours to Jamestown ND for the wifes nursing conf. She made me take her new equinox...

I just have no reason to own a little car. Fuel economy isn't important, I figure I can deal with $4-$5/gallon if it gets to that since I don't drive the truck much.

Back to the Corolla, I had a 2012 model the week before and I was stunned at what a POS it is compared to the Cruze, Focus and Dart. The 2012 had a 4-speed auto, the climate control is still operated by cables hooked to the dials so they feel crappy, it must have a gas tank the size of a thimble and it just felt cheap all around. I also couldn't sit in the passenger seat without reclining the seatback which I can't stand. With the seat in a proper/normal position my head was in the roof.

The LEDs in the 2014 worked well once I cleaned the headlamps of salt. It has a CVT which I normally hate but Toyota is way ahead of Nissan on these. My exact words to the manager of the local Enterprise were that if they give me a Nissan it damn well better be the last car they have in the entire state. Nissans SUCK with the CVT. I miss the company paying me to drive the truck everywhere like I did the first year. It could be a pain parking it in crappy cities like Chicago that have small lots but otherwise it was better to drive in all conditions and more comfortable than anything they've given me. The local branches almost never offer upgrades and they get hand me downs from the airport so most of their cars suck. This Corolla was pretty new and that's rare for them.

Chris you have City and County fire departments how dose that work? How do they divide up the calls or is it a race to everyone seems very wastefull but not surprised it being California.

I understand mutual aid. Here the towns supply mutual aid to each other. Why would towns/city that in a county already have fire departments also pay to have a county department dosen't make sense to me.

There's a growing trend to have a few people staff volunteer depts 24/7. Some counties just can't ensure that they can keep up with the call volume also so they have automatic mutual aid with the paid guys. For instance my paid dept responds automatically to the county with at least 1 engine company

The city I live in well area is like 400,000 people. The county is pretty damn large. County depts are also in the rural areas. I technically live outside city limits so I am in county FD and Sheriff area instead of city FD and police. But as far as fire the 2 closest depts get dispatched and that is what happened

Wow. I work in a city of roughly 30k and our normal response is 3 engines and a ladder if needed. The county fire department I'm on as well is much smaller with about 30 members so we request aid from surrounding areas frequently
