Where I'm at, I AM paying the prices I paid 12 year ago. Reg is 1.49 a gallon right now.

Not here. I think I left my book for my 73 in the truck but it was low $1 range in 2003 if I remember right. It's $1.80s here right now.

Ryan, you need to get the truck out more!!! I put 25,057 miles on bought 1,795.12 gallons of fuel for a total of $4,350.47 works out to average of 14.385 MPG. This includes about 8,000 miles towing this year. :jester:

I have enough going on here locally that most of my free time and weekends are taken up by sports. Just wait a few yrs for travel sports and I am sure the miles will rack up.

Put in a garage door opener yesterday on my shop door. I park my silverado in there and got tired of getting out to open the door every time I come home. 3/4 hp belt drive.

Well I got it hung anyhow. I still have to wire it up today.

Am retired so I didn't work on it very hard. Had to take time to play with dog, have cold ones, take lots of breaks.

Just home from getting 18% tint on my front windows and a 6 inch strip across the top of the windshield. Lifetime warranty for as long as I own the truck against scratches, chipping, tears, bubbles, almost anything that could go wrong. Except for tearing it off yourself.

Looks good. I miss being able to do that when I was living in AZ. That would be an instant ticket up here. Wouldn't pass inspection either ...

Land of 1,000 laws - everything is illegal ...

I think we're allowed 5%. What's the point of even bothering? 5% is barely noticeable.

Isn't the percentage the amount of light allowed to pass through? So wouldn't 5% be really dark?

I thought it was the other way around, meaning the light allowed in is at 95%, so you're allowed a 5% tint. I could be wrong on that - been many, many years since I tinted a window.

Replaced the mode door actuator under the dash over the weekend. Seems to be working a whole lot better now. Just need another road trip to see if it holds. It was a bugger to get the old one out...fat fingers and small spaces are not a good combo. Also the new one didn't want to go back on very well so I had to do a little "adjusting" to the little gear.

Lower the percentage darker it is

Ahh, I had it backwards. Now that you say that, I recall getting yanked by DPS on I-17, and they put this gauge in my window that said 5% - that must've been how I got that number in my head. Forget what Phoenix was, but they're much more lenient out there than in MA, but 5% was too dark. I never fixed it, and never had any further issues. Moved to CA a year later.

When I was a teenager, I had a '78 Capri that had blacked out windows front to back, with a strip on the windshield too. Thing was a statie MAGNET - I'd get pulled over 4x a week, and every time 3 cars would show up, yank me out of the car and they'd search it for 20 minutes. Every time! Lucky for me the thing had an electrical problem that killed the ignition and start circuits. Was still learning in those days, so off to the boneyard she went. Got $25 for it, lol.

He had a display in the showroom and 5% was listed as Limo dark. I think 5% looks cool but just a bit too dark for my taste, even on the rear windows.

Back when I lived in Illinois law enforcement frowned on any percentage of tint. Unless it came from the factory or the occupant had a form from a doctor saying that tint was required as protection from UV rays, or some thing like that.. Now I guess they changed the law that allows only 35% on ALL windows. I saw 35% in the showroom, I don't see why anyone would even bother paying for that.

Ahh, that's the number I was looking for - 35%. That's the MA tint limit too. I agree - not even worth it.

We can go darker on the rear windows (side and rear) only, but anything beside, or in front of the driver has to be 35% or lighter.

VA law is 50% front two windows, 35% anything behind that EXCEPT if it's a cargo van, Suv, or truck which in that case you can go as dark as you want. They believe you would keep tools in those vehicles so they let you go as dark as you want in order to decrease theft. Idk, weird commonwealth laws
