GM used rivets on S10 balljoints since the beginning. They suck.

Your supposed to replace the whole assembly ad the parts counter would say.

Yep - big ones too. My air chisel knocked the heads off no problem, but won't even touch them as far as forcing them out.

Guess I'd better get the Drill Doctor out ...

I had to deal with those when replacing the ball joint on my woman's Cobalt, and when I replaced my torsion bar bushings. Major pain in the you know what.

The torsion bar crossmember mount ones aren't that bad with a good grinder. They were really soft when I did mine

The S10's are easy compared to this thing. 1/2" rivets they used, WTF. Spent a couple hours today, and managed to get the bottom of ONE out.

5 broken drill bits. Just broke my 1/2" bit. I'm f#@*ing done! New control arm, or it gets towed out of here.

Guess it's time to retire my GM shirt after this one - that didn't make it either.

The farther north you go, the more difficult these things become.

NAPA had a control arm for this turd for $125 with the ball joint. Wish I had done that to begin with. I'd have been done YESTERDAY! Lesson learned.

Finally found something my air chisel could not conquer. First defeat ever. Didn't even move one of them one fraction of a millimeter.

That IS a steal. Can't touch any around here for less than $25-LARGE. Saw a low mile '05 going for $15k.

Yep- done with new too. Never again. Biggest waste of money in my life. I have the ability to fix them, so I should've never gone new to begin with.

This state doesn't exactly give you much incentive to buy new anyway. Annual excise, and the out-the-door sales tax will give you a stroke. Not to mention insurance. BIG premiums there.

So much easier to go to the store in a beater that you can park anywhere, and not give a crap about it.

Doesn't mean I want it you can offer me a brand new 0 mile 2015 and I'll still turn that problem down

Anyway Fixed big red found out my Bluetooth controller for my halos was drawing current even with the truck off disconnected that and jumped the truck and all is good. Gonna fix my 86 tomorrow

0 miles is unrealistic. I think my 2010 had 13 miles March 1st 2010.

Mine had 47 on it when I test drove it in April, 2007. 57 when they dropped it off at my house a few days later.

Guess they had to fix a few things first ...

It was an example guys
