Finally got the exhaust of my dreams... Installation was a piece of cake. Getting the old one off without reaching for the sawzall, was a freaking nightmare! It all worked out though, and I’m real happy with the result... Wife is pissed though [emoji51]

Good choice. I've had my Corsa setup for over 11 years & 92k miles now. Hangers and clamps have become stalactites of rust, but the muffler and pipe are still solid - just a bronze color.

I cut my stock pipe - was MUCH easier than jacking the truck 5' in the air. I could always weld it back together if I decide to sell it, but doubt there's a market for a stock exhaust system. Better off just keeping it in the barn where it's been for the last decade +  ... for what reason I have no idea. I do live in MA, so just in case the state goes full commie on noise I guess ...

I remember when my tips looked that purrty. Long, long ago. Whole truck was purrty then. :)

This is my favorite low cost update to my truck. I just wanted to share it here for others. I hope this helps others save some money and can enjoy it as much as I do.

I'm still about 30k from being eligible.

It seems my idea of excellent or clean wheels is far above and beyond the goons on eBay. Looks like I'll be saving up for brand new wheels from GM Parts Giant.

Sigh.

Anybody have any pointers on how to get the tire shop to not scratch your wheels? I'd like to get a set and keep it. You know, for like ever.

Sounds like they need to hire some guys with experience, instead of fresh out of tech or high school. If the tire machine is in good shape, there's no reason they should be scratching wheels, unless they don't know how to use a tire iron carefully ... or just plain don't give a crap.

I got my set from a car dealer out in CA off eBay 8 years ago. They came wrapped TIGHT with plastic, straps, & foam liner on a pallet. Took me quite a while to unpack the set. Wasn't a single mark, nor even a speck of dirt on them. They came off a '10 LTZ - only had 900 miles on them. They cost a bit, but back then I had never seen these wheels before, nor had anyone else. Here's the seller, but they don't have anything for sale at the moment: https://www.ebay.com/usr/uwin.tires-wheels-accs

I think it's the latter. One thing that sucks about out here is they seem to have the 'you have nowhere else to go so we don't have to try mentality'.

There's a few good sellers out there, but they tend to have the sets that have a few marks. No more generic or 5 foot picture sets for me, stupid me thought they were being honest :sigh:

Yeah with the first set I replaced the morons in Gillette (location right there is half of it) left nice deep scratches all the way around the right side wheels, lug nut marks on the left front, and chipped the clearcoat on the left rear. This go round the shop I thought knew what they were doing in Casper did the same bleeping thing. And the chain down here did the same thing AGAIN and left a couple nice deep scratches on one of the blades/spokes.

I've had great luck at, if you can believe this, the Chevy dealer in town. They're part of a chain, and the one in Gillette (BIG SHOCK THERE) is a bunch of clowns, but the guys here seem to have a clue. Did a nice job on my bumper cover and tailgate handle, and all service work has been good, but I think they have long term wrenchers. Perhaps I just answered my own question.

Thanks for the pointers.... Appreciate the insight!

The reason I ended up buying a tire machine and balancer 13 years ago was for that exact same reason. It was Town Fair Tire that was the last straw for me. My '72 El Camino got new wheels, lug nuts, and tires all the way around. They scratched the wheels, butchered and cross threaded the lugs, then the idiot kid comes out squealing the shit out of my power steering, and laughing about it ... right in front of me! Sad part is the kid didn't see anything wrong with this until I laid into him in front of a showroom full of people.  Haven't had anyone do tires for me since.

I did that at one point...I find a reputable local shop to do my work, they typically have a vested interest in keeping you as a customer.

Cubs have theirs tomorrow at wrigley

My son has his first two games today. Mid 30s. It was fun since they won. Need to post a pic of my truck since it is geared up for the season and filthy inside from baseball dirt

Today I swung by NAPA and picked up a new purge valve for my mom's POS Hyundai Santa Fe.  It took about 1.5 hours to replace the purge valve, had to take the throttle body off to get to it, but at least I was able to do it.  I am glad that this 2.7L Mitsubishi designed engine is fairly easy for an import to work on.  Not a lot of weird hoses going all over the place.  Just dissapointed in the shitty reliability.  Next thing to tackle-  The dang air bag light.. likely a result of a bad clock spring.  Never mind the fact that they did a recall on this thing and replaced the clockspring about 5 years ago and it has probably gone bad again.  But oh well.  It's mother's car, and I love my dear sweet old widowed mother and want her to be safe, so, I'll get the airbag working again.
