Supercharged 2012 kicked into neutral under heavy acceleration??

Sounds like what happens to my truck when the torque management kicks in. All of a sudden the truck just falls flat on its face for a few seconds like I completely took my foot from the pedal. I see that as a safety issue. If you want the truck to GO and all it does is NOT GO...I consider that a problem.

Torque management doesn't "kick in" its on all the time, it's built right in to all the parameters of your engine and trannies characteristics. I get in a brand new truck I can feel the tranny/engine getting held back from top to bottom of RPM range.

Anyways to the OP, sounds like some bad tuning. Blower or no blower it shouldn't kick into neutral. I would find a good tuner to do some data logging, see what's goin on. Your tranny is a weak point when you have a blower....I wouldn't risk it.

Well it happened again.......... It was the exact same scenario. Traction control was off, I made a left turn easy so I didn't smoke the tires of in town and as I rolled into it if went into neutral again. It was the exact same thing as last time. I am almost certain that it isn't the gear selector and nothin is slipping. If I hammer it there is no issues, it kicks down and hauls ass! I will be doin some data logging and we are pretty sure its a CAL issue.

Music - I am guessing that is too the wheel? either way I am well over that.......... Any one know a good High po- trans guy in Detroit/Ann Arbor, lol

Music - Thanks for the info....... I did talk with an engineer today and he said the "60" is for 600. He says its rated at 600 and thats what we have based everything off. I think this is one of those ignorance is bliss things.......... I am starting to have some regrets tho. That is until I jump in and head home, then its well worth the potential inconvenience. I guess I need to beef up the trans and possibly the rear end and finish my short block.

If it is in fact the transmission causing an issue, why does it do it when driving normal? That doesn't make sense to me, ya would think it would do it under load?

Makes you wonder if it actually "missing" a gear. Not sure if that is possible in the electronic transmissions.

BlackZ71Silverado - What do you mean........ It is happening under load, it’s happening as I am rolling into the throttle. In fact I bet it is under load for a longer period of time because I am not stabbing the throttle and making it “kick down.”

Try using the manual shift button to select another gear when it does it next time. See if you can isolate it in one gear. By that I mean, maybe your trans no longer has 2nd gear. Or 3rd gear. When driving normally, it just shifts over the missing gear. When you get on it a bit, it shifts into that missing gear, and the revs just shoot up till the computer shifts to the next gear? By using the shift buttons and manual shift, you can be the computer and do the shifting to see what gear is missing.

What I mean is you said, I was making a turn "EASY" to me that does not mean under heavy load like you describe in your OP. Why keep driving the truck and allow it to keep getting worse? Take it to a shop that knows their stuff. Chances are the tranny is shot because it's not designed to support the supercharger.

BlackZ71Silverado - Well its def not shot....... I am looking at having it rebuilt to be safe but it is def not shot. Like I have explained before the truck drives perfect under normal conditions. Its only when I make a turn easy..... THEN ROLL INTO THE THROTLE to moderate/heavey acceleration that it happens (like I have mentioned everytime before). I am pretty sure its a calibration issue which we are working on resolving. The trans can handle a supercharger I just have mine dialed up a little bit, and it has not gotten any worse or I would be more concerned.

Pretty sure I already asked, but, what supercharger kit did you install? My next step is a supercharger, looking for some input on what kits people here have used, what issues came up during install, what results did you get, anything to be aware of before taking the step to purchase a kit?

Man to me it sounds like a t/c issue but I could be wrong. You need to do some data logging, with somebody who knows their $hlt. Did you do a shift kit or anything??? I would do some servo's, shift kit, maybe some better bands. At least up shift pressures/line pressure. Hope you figure this all out man...you got any videos of this thing in action???

Torque converters either work, or don't. For one to act like it was not even there it would require all the splines to be missing from the shaft/hub. Only time I ever saw it happen was on the 79 full size Chrylser/Plymouth first gen lock-up convertor on the 904. No recall for it, just a service campaign bulletin. Still happen to have 3 brand new input shafts if you happen to need one by the way.
