I have been doing all kinds of research on these trucks, I have narrowed it down to these two trucks.. What would you guys do?

2010 GMC Sierra SLT 50,000KM

Fully loaded, everything but nav.

5.3L V8

AFM (possible issues?)

warranty until 160,000km or 5 yrs. (so ends sometime in 2015)

$30-$32k +/-

or

2008 GMC Sierra Denali 50,000km

Fully loaded, everything but nav. (its a denali)

rear sliding window, auto start, back up sensors etc.

6.2l V8 - No AFM

Pwr Tran. warranty ends Oct. 17/2013

$27,500

The SLT, will have a little better milage, has warranty, but also has afm which I'm not to keen on... The Denali has everything the SLT has but is older, and the warranty is almost up.

-I dont tow a hole lot not, possibly will in the future but nothing crazy (camper and or a boat?)

-I like the fact the Denali is cheaper, and wont cost me as much.. but don't like that its older..

-I like the SLT, because its everything that I need but, its also more money, and has AFM, and not saying id have issues but if i did ok its under warranty but what about after?

Which one would you choose?

6.2

If I would of been on the forum and been doing my homework like you are when I bought my truck there would be a 6.2 in the garage right now.

The Denali, and add the navigation unit.

I would go out and buy a new 6.2. I paid $32,500 for a brand new 2011 silverado crew cab 6.2 LT. It has the nht package along with convienence package( remote start, adjutable pedals, and backup sensors). I plan on adding katskinz, nav., and seat heaters in the future. But if your set on one of those 2 trucks I would definately go with the 6.2 without question. Ive had both the 5.3 and the 6.2 and the 6.2 is my choice by a mile.

What colors are they?

Only thing i don't like about the Denali, is more on fuel and it takes premium. And warranty is almost up.

But, it also is cheaper... And the money saved there can be spent on gas lol

Thanks!

Honestly how is the difference in fuel?

Offer 25k for the Denali, put the other $2500 on an extended warranty. If you want good mileage get a prius with the tow package :) . Post pics after you pull the trigger...

why? Its a valid question

Are they both 4wd? I'm not a Denali fan (no offense to anyone), so I'm probably the odd one out to go w/ the true 4x4. I'd look for a new(er) LT or SLE 4wd truck that I liked before paying that much for a '10 SLT... but I don't like bucket seats either. I'm thinking that my opinion doesn't help much.

It will run well on regular, however the PCM retards the timing to avoid detonation (pinging) @ higher rpm, and your gas milage will be lower.

Denali. I've had 2 5.3's, I shoulda bought the 6.2 the first time. The only thing an 08 Denali wouldn't have that a new one would be Bluetooth and Cooled Seats. From an interior standpoint it is much more of a luxury truck than my previous 2 SLT GMT-900s and I like it!!

Did you have the 5.3l w/afm? If so how did it compare the 6.2 in fuel? Also taking into account it needs premium..

Thx

Both 5.3's had AFM and I had Justin at Blackbear turn that off. The 11 6.2 Denali is just so much more fun to drive. The fuel mileage is similar I feel. I don't mind paying a little extra for the premium fuel as it is worth the smile when driving it. The 6.2 is an all around much smoother machine.
