New owner of 1996 GMC K1500 - Lots of questions!

Hi. I am very new to the world of GMC. Thanks in advance for any help anyone brings.

 

I just bought a 1996 GMC 1500. On the title, it states it’s a Sierra K1500 SK1. I am trying to hunt down parts, but everywhere asks if it’s an SL, SLE or SLT. I have no clue, but it has gray leather seats, extended cab, V8, 4x4, power mirrors, windows and locks, no sunroof, no fender flares.

Could someone give me a quick rundown of the different trim packages? Also, what does SK1 mean?

I am trying to hunt down new front seats. Does anyone know what other model and years would work?

k means 4 wheel drive

your model years are approx. 1990-1998/9.

They should all bolt in.

In 2000 they changed the names to sierra/silverado sle sl and slt trim packages ,and will not work (I believe?)

Thank you very much scooby5121. I've looked up all sorts of sites and they keep referring to SL, SLE, and SLT for my year. Its actually a Z71, but that option is never available. The truck doesn't have the manual anymore, and Indiana titles do not state much on them, so things are getting tricky.

 

Do you happen to know a good source for parts? I have yet to check out the classifiieds on this forum.

I would guess SLT, due to the leather seats and power windows locks and mirrors. I didn't know they were using that in the 90's either, but unless you're ordering interior parts the trim level shouldn't matter.

Thank you very much for the info. After some digging, I found out it is an SLT. I am trying to hunt down interior parts, so I am trying to find out what other years and models would work.
