I'm stuck on what gears to do in mine. I have 3.42's. Not sure if I want 3.73's or 4.10's.

Depends on what you want out of it. With my tires, my effective ratio is the same as 3.73 with a 265/70R17. A 4.10 will be happy but thats why i want to change first gear. Not worth the swap to move just 1 size

I'd really like it to be more awake when pulling out from a stop. Right now it feels like it has no get up. I don't want to go too low though because then it starts drinking fuel a lot worse. I don't want to end up getting 11 or 12 mpg. Only way I'm getting gears is when one of my differentials goes out so even if I go 3.73 then it wouldn't be for nothing as I'd have to buy something anyhow.

A tank average of 13 is a good week for me. Anything over 14 is because inwent out of town. And i have 3.42 gears with 2wd

I'm getting 15 average now. A little worse than what my 05 used to get which was 15.5. That's on the DIC, not sure what it is hand calculated as I don't really care THAT much since it's a truck. Just don't want to end up getting 10mpg lol!

I get 11-12 around town and about 16.5 highway

100lb wheel/tire combo per corner is awesome haha

Cris,

I just read this entire thread. All I can say is "You are the man!". I though I had done some mods over the years, but nothing compares to yours. I look forward to seeing what you do next.

Great thread bro! Bet you love that LQ9 over the 4.8! After having some heating issues after my lq9 swap,I'm seriously thinking about switching to efans myself. Keep up the great work man.

Fuses after 3 years of electric fans

Yeah, several factors keep me from biting the bullet on the efans.. One I sold my extra pcm so I'd be truck less while the pcm got reconfigured. Second, I need everything including the fans, harness and those trucks came with bigger radiators and alternators too. I'll probably just replace the fan clutch for now and get a MIT tube instead and possible a borla muffler lol.

I haf my tune emailed, didn't start the swap until i had everything in, and it took about 2 hours

On my 02 I did an efan upgrade, did the larger 34" radiator as well. Mine weren't wired into the ecm rather they were a direct swap from Flex-a-Lite made for the 34" radiator and had their own controller with a thermostat probe that pushes into the radiator, but I went with the optional in- line radiator hose thermostat. They were definitely louder than a factory fan setup but they pulled more cfm's I believe and definitely kept my 5.3 cool

those fuses.

yikes.

I still have the 4 ton fan on an old 96..want to go electric.

was thinking of full wave rectify, 2 fuses, 1 for each 30 hertz.

heatsinked rectify and relay.

I did this for in intake heater on a custom boxer engine.

7F and below..no full runtime on gasoline. Big air engine like blowing the candles out in the wind..

anyway.

that was the answer.

I know they are still not all good, even new. Second guess them.

Well in the past couple months had to change a trans and on Nov 28 I was in an accident that was ruled my fault. Took care of the front of my truck. So the Denali swap begins

So it stars with a front frame section from an 03 Tahoe

Then new head light mounting brackets and Denali Parking lights. This helped me figure out my parking light relay is toasted

And temporary grille modification

Grill, bumper braces, and hard plastic Denali impact bar are on order.
