Been surfing this topic for a while and didn't see what i'm looking for!

I'm looking for someone installed 315/70R17 with the stock 17" wheels. I would like to know what is the minimal lift required without having rubbing issue or minimal trimming required.

 

Also I would be happy if it has reversal feature which it can go to stock when I want to.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a lift, and want to make sure all of my homework is done in advance. My goal is a BDS 6" lift with 35x12.5x18 tire. Initially I wanted to keep my stock Z71 wheels (18") but I've come to the conclusion that the backspacing isn't going to work with these kits.

 

Even the BDS rep said if i wanted to put a 35" tire on an aftermarket 18" wheel with 0 offset, it would require quite a bit of trimming. He recommended a 34" tire.

 

I haven't seen many running 18" wheels on here with the suspension lift. Is the only feasible solution to bump it up to a 20"?

I ran a 4" suspension lift with a 1.5" body lift on my 2014 Silverado. It had 35x12.5x18 on aftermarket rims with a 0 offset. I then added 1" wheel spacers. I only rubbed a lil and it was fixed by cutting a lil of the fender wall back and zip tying also.

I need some help to determine how much HP I will lose at the rear wheels. I have a '14 SLT 5.3 3.42 gears and 2.5 level. The stock 275/55/20 tire weigh 39 lbs. The new tire will be 285/55/20 terra grapplers weighing 58 lbs. My question is, the tires are 19 lbs heavier per corner but I'll be keeping the diameter the same. How much is this rotating mass weight going to effect my HP output to the grown? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same engine/gears but with a 6.5" lift, I went with 35" tires on 18" wheels and I couldn't really notice the power loss driving around town. It's on the highway when you'll go to pass someone that the loss will really be noticeable.

You guys with this rc 2.5 leveling kit are you having any problems or if you were to do it again would you? Or would you go the another way? I'm concidering either the RC 2.5 or just going with the bilestien. Thought and opinions please. (2015 GMC SERRIA ALL TERAIN with the 6.2)

I have the 2.5 RC level. I personally have not had any issues. Although, to be honest, I wish I went a little higher. I have been debating upgrading upper control arms and upgrading to KING or Fox suspension which would give me 3.5" of lift and allow 33 or 35 inch tires.

If it's any consolation, I have a 20" rim at 0 offset on a 6" RCX. RCX told me it's impossible to run a 35x12.5 tire on a 20x9 0 offset rim. Needless to say I've sent them several pictures of my truck with that set up(: I'm sure BDS will be the same way. They will tell you it won't work cause testing is done on a truck with 0 trimming and it still has the valence on. So you just may need to trim the valence. I'm sure it'll fit. Whether you have an 18" rim, or a 26" rim, as long as the width is the same and offset is the same, then if the 18 works so will the 26 cause then it just matters what the specs of the tire are

Yes its a 6" lift. Im thinking of the truck that I just traded had the 5.5" lift.....

Just curious I am running the rcx 5 inch suspension lift. You have any rubbing with those tires on the stock rims. I hate to buy new tires right now but I am may be looking for something to fill the wheel wells a little better.

I went with a 6.5" Ready Lift and kept 18 wheels (-12 offset) with 35x12.5 BFG KO2's, there was some rubbing when I had the wheels at full lock when turning but a few hit with a hammer cleared that right up. 73d7dd3c0cdf00cf071a04cc4375255a.jpg
