Ok guys I have been doing some research on CST 4.5" lift kit vs BDS 4" lift kit. I already purchased fox 2.5 factory series coilovers, fox 2.0 rear shocks, and cognito upper control arms. I am hoping one of you guys can tell me what your opinion was on one of these kits. (also hopefully you have this specific kit on your truck and let me know exactly how everything is)

I have the 4.5" zone kit which is a rebrand of bds but also running the same coils, shocks, and arms as you. I love how my truck rides. I also added bds leaf springs and removed the rear block so the rear end is a tad bid stiffer but no complaints

now after hearing this, how much cutting is involved with the zone kit? I'm trying to avoid chopping my truck up at all costs. But if that's the only way I'll have to just bite the bullet. I would also like to keep my factory 18" midnight edition wheels. Will the zone kit be ok for this? I know they're website says stock 17's and 18's won't fit due to tie rod end interference but I wanted to hear from someone who might be in the same boat as I am in. Thanks in advance fellas!

theres only minor cutting, that's no big deal at all. As for stock wheels it depends on the control arms you have. As long as you don't have stamped steel you SHOULD be able to run your stockers.

I am looking to get a bds 4 inch lift. So if I change to cognito upper control arms then I should be able to fit my oem 18 inch rims? I like my rims. I don't they are bad. But right now I would rather not spend the cash on new rims if I don't need too.

I don't have that lift, so I don't want to lead you astray, but I believe the interference is going to be with your steering knuckle and your 18" rim itself -- the diameter is too small to go over the knuckle. That's why most knuckle lifts are OK with 20" rims but not 17" or 18". You may have rubbing on your UCA and swaybar with stockers and larger tires, but lots of people live with tire rub.

This guy put a 1.25" spacer on a BDS 4" lift to kick his rim out for clearance...said a .5" would have been enough though. His setup has a wider front track from the BDS lift itself, plus the extra offset of the spacer.

Quoting him: " Yes had to trim drivers side fender and zip tie wheel well covers back a little bit. Had to run spacers in front also to clear steering nuckle. If you ran a 18 inch rim with 0 offset you would be fine. "

And this guy is running Cognitos and stock rims:

Looks good! Basic zone lift or did you get the upgraded rear shocks? Anyone ever buy the skid plates? Would like to get one but not digging the zone letters in their skid plate, looks alittle childish... Maybe aftermarket options?
