Question /concern with rear leaf springs. I installed a 6" zone lift about 1.5 months ago or longer..havent had any issues, but the other day at a friends house we were chilling in the garage and our trucks were backed up to the door, while sitting there i was looking at the rear of the truck and noticed that the "ADD-A-LEAF" and one of the factory leafs had slightly shifted , so they were no longer all lined up together. Before anything happens is there something i can do to insure they stay lined up?

Ill probably be lifting this weekend to loosen and realign them. Did i miss a step during the install? i followed the paper instructions as well as the video we found online and believe that nothing was over looked..

Any suggestions would be great..

You could try leaf spring clamps

im assuming/guessing that those are the extra parts i had left over from the install that were not shown how to install? Maybe :)

How much would i need to undo in order to install those clamps at this point?

Is there a video on how to do it? I found plenty of vids for installing the ones from the auto parts store that come with bolts and nuts..

You shouldn’t have to undo anything

HI all

My truck is now out of warranty, 2015 GMC All Terrain with 19K on it, I'm looking to do some work to it.

I'd  like to run 35's or maybe 36's on my stock 20" wheels. I'm hoping to find something that doesn't rub and I don't need to do any body cutting. For those who have done this what are my options ?? I'm looking for something that rides as good as it looks.

Help me out if you would, btw I've spent the last week read through almost 200 pages of this thread. I must say all of you have some beautiful trucks!!

Thanks in advance

BDS’s website has lots of pics under their badass rides section. I have a Zone 4.5” (owned by BDS) with Bilstein 5100s set at 1.25” for 5.75” of total lift.

Nice !! Very Nice !! Gotta love a white truck!!

I wish I would have waited to find a white one instead of iridium, it's almost as bad as black to keep clean.

Bilstein's make a big difference in ride quality? I know they were great when lowering my CompG.

allright  gents ive been looking through this page and I haven't seen anybody that has been running on the setup that I would like to get. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 leveled out. I am going to get the rough country 7inch lift(not the knuckle kit) but the drop down. the rims and tires I want to get is the fuel maverick 20x10 -24 offset with the nitto grappler 35x12.5R20LT. my question is I know I have to do some trimming but I want to know how much I have to trim? I know I have to cut the valence.  I want to know if I have to bend back the rear fender metal portion and if I have to cut into the bumper? if any of your guys are running this setup I would really want to know what you guys did or what the shop did. thanks for the help guys.
I have the Rough Country 6 inch lift the only thing that needed trimmed was the valence on the outside edges just a little running the same size wheel and tire setup

    • Welcome back! No, it definitely doesn't pass the sniff test. Even "ceasefire" needs an alternative definition these days.    $5.29 at Kroger today
    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
