I know these catch can probably dont have anything to do with getting better MPG, but I found it weird that after I installed my Elite CC today, my average MPG went from 14.7 to 17.2...weird

In time it can keep mileage from decreasing by keeping the intake manifold clean. But the increase in mileage you experienced is likely unrelated to the install of your CC.

Probably got some ethanol-free gas. I see jumps in mileage like that in my '07 whenever I can get it out of state.

Yes, when you install one of the good ones, you reduce the detonation caused by the ingestion and thus knock retard goes away (at least greatly reduced) so your timing advance can remain at optimum advance. The guarantee is 1-3 MPG average for the fleet owners that buy them, just a way for them to pay for themselves with the Elite E2-X system.

Call JDP and ask if they have any E2-X specials, or Elite direct.

Can anyone point me to the page for installing one of these with an AIRAID MIT on a 5.3?

Thanks,

Matt

My videos should give you a good idea of how to get things installed correctly. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yes. On a CAI just do the same bridging both valve covers and run to hose from the CSS to the main air filter end or base (add barb there).

Great compilation Fondupot.

The real original RX company is NOT distributing their cans at the moment. I would not buy anything that says RX from any site right now.

Guys, i have had an Elite catch can installed for roughly 800 miles, cleaned out once and is now empty. Other day while driving on the highway at roughly 65MPH got the flashing CEL with a hesitation and loss of power. Based on what i have read the flashing CEL correlates to a misfire? I am taking to dealer tomorrow...does anyone believe it could be related to the catch can or just a coincidence ? should i remove it before i take it to the dealer ? I have checked all connections on catch can etc and are all tight.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Assuming all hose connections are tight and there aren't any vacuum leaks or anything, and the fact that you had hesitation and loss of power, I'm thinking it's just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the catch can. It's likely a bad spark plug, bad fuel injector.....something within the engine itself that's affecting the combustion process.

There are a ton of us in here with catch cans of varying makes/models and none that I know of have had any CEL's as a result.

When I got my RX catch can I bought it back in May from extremeautoproducts. It's a good unit, I'm assuming it's a real RX product it's welded not a two piece cheesy unit like the Rxspeedworks one. It also seems to be working excellent so far as well!

Correct. If you watch my videos (posted a lot in this thread). You can compare to a legit RX can. If yours looks like mine. You are gold.
