HVAC control problem

1999 Chevy 1500 and with manual control unit. The temp control works backwards (blows hot when you select cold and blows cold when on hot) and the mode control is not working right either. Tryed a friends control head and it does the same thing in my 1999. Works ok in his truck, his is a 1999 also. Replaced the mode door actuator and blend door actuator. Unhooked the battery cable for 5 minutes. Still does not work right! Help please!

Was this the first time the actuators have been removed? Assuming that you are not the original owner, was the system ever operating correctly? Are you sure you put the actuators in the correct positions?
