Muffler Delete

For those of you who were curious as to how the 5.3 will sound with just the center muffler cut out, here you go. Try to use headphones or speakers to really hear it, a phone speaker does it no justice. In person it sounds like the older 6.2 denali's just a little deeper and slightly louder.

PS don't forget to turn on high quality for better sound

Just saw the video, sounds decent. Whoever welded that needs some more training. Just saying...

The weld is actually pretty decent I just went a little overboard on the muffler cement so it doesn't rust.

No I'm getting no drone because I left the valve in which is key. My friend took his out and there's a bit of drone on his.

Thanks for the reply, I just saw your 0-60 video. I think i'm gonna try this on my CC. Did it cause any rattles at all? When I put a flowmaster or my 2006 it would cause a rattle at certain lower rpms.

Watched it again, Since you mention muffler cement, I see it now. I like how it sounds. Good job!

wow that sounds a lot louder than I expected. Nice tone. Might have to go this route

I really like the sound of the 6.2L Denalis when they start and idle. Just a slight rumble. Does this muffler delete make much noise at cruising speed? I like the truck to remain quiet cruising but have a bit of throaty sound when I get on it.

If your cruising it's no louder than stock. You only hear it when your on it or accelerating. I also have no rattles. Like I said, you spend 40-50 bucks on this and you net the same result as adding a 500-800 dollar cat back. The piping on the stock exhaust is more than enough if your going to stay n/a. Buying a cat back for this truck is pissing in the wind if you ask me. No offence to those of you that do it, but that's money I can spend on a nice cam.

Will,

That sounds really good!!!

I would have never thought it but it looks like that will be the way I go. Like you said for next to nothing and you get a little noise out of our silent trucks

Thanks for the video

I think the Corsa tip looks better and it is 3" instead of 2.5" like the SLP

I agree, I'm going to look into this myself.

Did you happen to install this yourself? Or did you have a shop do it. I'm Curious as I have a mig welder and I'm considering doing this myself. Any detail would be appreciated.
