Muffler Delete

I just redone mine today and I'm happy as a pig in ****. I put a 3" super 44 on, removed the back muffler, cut the valve off, and put a nice rolled stainless tip. I can't believe how deep the super 44's are. The truck has a very aggressive bark but zero rasp. I'll post a video again on youtube tomorrow when I get a chance. All in all it cost me $94 and I'm very pleased with the results.

Uh...the video is located, where? :dunno::fingersx:

I just had this done this morning. 3" aluminzed pipe slipped right on. Took the guy maybe 15 minutes total. $50 and a nice mellow sound. Absolutely no droning and not loud at all even with the windows down. Just a nice deep note when on the throttle that lets you know its a V8

Ok good to know. I'm gonna go with their aluminzed steel then

I figured as such, and its probably even easier as they won't even need to flare the ends

Factory exhaust is stainless steel 409 grade no alumnized steel- no way they'd be able to get away w/ alumnized for 100,000 mile power train warranties

My truck had 100k powertrain and had aluminized steel. They need it to last 5 years or 100k. Aluminized steel will keep that long

Good to know... I'd like a bit more of a rumble from mine when I get on it, but I don't want cab noise while cruising... I'm on the fence but getting closer to doing it.

I was hesitant initially that it would be too loud. Not the case at all, if anything it is not loud enough. I cut the resonator off my 2012 Suburban and there is more cabin noise from that than in this truck.

Any if you guys with the muffler delete located around atlanta? I'm curious to hear it in person before I take the plunge. I tow often and am concerned under load and higher revs it may get annoying. Especially on mountain roads

Not in the northeast

Yes and that is a small area of the country. Maybe 20% of sales so the other 80% doesnt matter. Look at it as a cost benefit analysis. Why spend the extra on a full stainless system when 80% or more will fare well with aluminized steel? Cheaper to replace the 10-20% that will POSSIBLY fail
