The V4 sound is not a drone at all, as a matter of fact it is quieter than V8 mode and I would describe it as a muted V8 sound with a bit more of a warble in it. I can hear the transition but it is tough to pick up. Very pleased with the Flowmaster so far, and since it is a chambered muffler I don't think the tonal qualities with change since there is no fiberglass to pack down

Are all of these trucks 5.3's you are doing this on? Has anyone modified the 6.2's yet?

My 6.2L exhaust is making a whistling, leaky rushing air type sound, almost certainly from the exhaust flapper. Happens during patial throttle, and changes tones with changes in throttle, full throttle is a loud rush of air sound from the back. I didnt notice it the first couple hundred miles and now I notice it quite often, makes me think its abnormal.... Anyone else?

Yes, I had posted in a couple threads, including this one. I have the 6.2 in a Denali. I modifed my exhaust system by cutting off the factory system in front of the muffler and tossing it. That means the factory muffler, the "exhaust flapper valve" and the resonator went in the trash. We replaced it with a 22" Magnaflow and custom made two 3 1/2" pipes that run straight out the back. I have absolutely no resonance, no unusal noises from the system. It works and sounds magnificently. I have no idea why some guys are experiencing some resonance in the cab. I know some of them did the exact same mods, and I know at least one of them has a 6.2. I love my system. I do wish it would rumble a little more at idle, but it does sound pretty good when you get your foot in it.

PJ, I'm sure the noise you are experiencing, is the valve.

My noise is a combination of the valve and the weep hole in the resonator. Very irritating!

Yea Man, those two items need to go. However, I don't remember, I think you replaced your muffler with a straight pipe. If so, you made need to go to a muffler of some sort if you get rid of the flapper and the resonator. Like I have mentioned before, my 22" magnaflow and custom bent pipes coming straight out the back works perfectly. There is no drone and no other unusal noises. My son who is a huge car guy and never hesitates to tell me if I screwed up, has said my truck sounds better than any he has recently heard. I think it isn't loud enough but maybe it is. Either way, it is perfect as far as noises go. i love my set up.

Yes sir, you are correct. I went the cheap way, hoping Corsa comes out with something soon. Yours is a Magnaflow 22" single in dual out?? I'm wondering if anyone has removed the third cat, I need to look under mine and see if it has any 02's in it.

What does all of this do to the factory warranty?

Just voids coverage on the exhausr system behind the cats. Other than that, doesnt mess with your warranty

NOTHING, unless your warranty problem is tied directly to the exhaust mods. I had all kinds of mods done to my "03 Vette over the last 11 years and carried an extended warranty as long as possbile, until two years ago. During that time, any issues I had were taken care of under warranty without question. I have modifed the exhaust on practically every vehicle I have ever owned which total 67, with 38 of them being purchased new. I have never had any problems with warranty issues. Of course, just as mentioned before on here, if you mod your suspension and have a suspension warranty issue, you could be SOL! If you mod your brakes and have a brake warranty issue you could be SOL. Modding exhausts is a pretty common practice in my circles, and I am 67. I have never heard of an exhaust mod causing warranty problems.

I'm sorry I'm not the best person on the forum for providing information. I don't seem to be able to figure out how to post pictures and I definitely couldn't post a U-Tube Video if my life depended on it. Several of you have asked me to post pics and someone asked me to post a video of the exhaust. My apologies guys, I guess I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to modern media.

That's a good point Mike. I would be curious exactly where the sensors are located. I have never read anything on here where anyone removed a cat. Corsa does make some good stuff. I have Corsa on my Vette, and had Corsa on my H3 I owned for 5 years. Yes, I do have the single in, dual outlet Magnaflow on the Denali, because I had the same set up on my last two Silverados. I have a fantastic exhaust shop here in Montgomery. I know the guys pretty well and always marvel at how good they are at custom fabricating exhaust systems.

I went this afternoon to do this but the muffler shop did not have 2.75" tubing and was arguing with me that the factory system is not stainless. Gonna try another shop

Factory exhaust is aluminized stainless-steel muffler and tailpipe
