Fair enough. I wish i had a bender to make my own exhaust. I think im gonna leave stock piping change muffler to a 18" magnaflow and put on a nice dual tip

14" and there rgt a shop can do what ever u need /want them 2. Look at red tail tips there very nice.

For me dual exhaust and how I want it setup is from my OCD lol. Having just the one tailpipe was killing my OCD. I got to have 2 tailpipes and one on each side no matter if it's straight back or what. My old 98 actually came with true duals from the front to the back with just 1 muffler dual in/dual out.

OCD Baby! Gotta love it!

Yeah I have that disease too. With me it's about having clean wheels. Who knew?

Ya it messed with me even with decals that aren't straight lol. Bubbles in tint piss me off lol. Even with license plates I got to have it right lol. I also get ADD sometimes. With some things I can be careful and have patients, but most of the time I have no patients at all. Also when it comes to cars, trucks and motorcycles I'm good at imagining what something will look like, but if someone tries to explain how to do something or step by step of what to do I have to see it before I get it lol.

Are any of you putting a new muffler in and leaving the stock flapper? I just had a new borla muffler welded in and left the flapper. I have it bolted open but figured better safe than sorry if I have drone I can always unclamp it. Wondering if I should have just had it cut out?

I kept it too. Haven't tried it clamped open yet. It's on my to do list.

Thanks for the input russ.

On a side note, once the truck is warm, when I take off from a stop, I get a click click noise coming from under the truck only when the truck is at operating temp and exhaust is hot I am assuming. Wasn't doing it before the muffler install, but is doing it now.

Do you guys think the pipes need some time to break in and have some expansion and contraction, or do you think something is too tight? This is only happening under load when taking off from a stop. Thanks in advance!

I've been following these exhaust topics for months...... I hate the factory (non)sound, but can't afford $1,000 for aftermarket. Did Yamiryder find the perfect solution in the Dynomax 39529? I want some good sound without being obnoxious, and realize non of the exhausts significantly improve hp or gas mileage. Also, I realize I bought the only V6 Silverado ever built (and I like it!).... does anyone have knowledge regarding drone et al with the Dynomax (or any aftermarket) with the V6. Heck, I cannot tell when it goes from V6 to V4. Thanks.

You don't need to spend that kind of money on a prefit system. Just go to any shop that's good with exhaust and tell them what you want. I had everything from the muffler on back taken off and had them put in a single in/dual out Flowmaster Super 44 muffler with the tips at a 45° behind each tire. I have black chrome tips and the muffler is coated black. Not sure if the pipe used was stainless or not. But I had it all done with labor for about $300. Why spend more money on a premade system especially if it's not exactly how you'd want. There's a V4 drone but it doesn't bother me and you can't really hear it on the interstate, just mainly around town.

Just so everyone knows, the GM Borla muffler is available on borla's site.

http://www.borla.com/products/muffler:_275_inout_775_x_part__19131346.html

less than 200 available.

Note, this is for the previous gen, but can be cut into stock exhaust

I actually picked this up last week and had it installed yesterday. It is a tad deeper than stock but you literally can't hear it with the resonator in. I am going to cut the resonator off in the coming days and either dump the exhaust over the axle or run a new pipe out of the stock location without the resonator. Will update soon!

Shops usually use 16 gauge Aluminized pipe. A local shop owner only open fours days a week did a great job installing Magnaflow and duels on my 2012 . Will have him install Magnaflowor or Flowmaster on my new truck. trying to decide single or duel 45, pictures some of his work

All of you thinking Cat Back, I would agree that is the way to go. Have done cat back's several times. They are an easy project and not to expensive! An they make a big difference in power and sound! IMO!

So I got this bad boys in today;

I was wanting to get the complete Corsa cat-back. but $1k for a catback was very steep, and I don't want to invest too much money in my truck. So I plan on getting these welded on along with removing the resonator, valve, and installing either an 18" or 14" Magnaflow. I saw both videos Luster posted of his 22" and then 14" and they both sound good. I think the 14" might be a bit too loud for me and a guy a few pages back did a video for the 18" and really liked how that sounded.
