That pulsating and chopper like feel and sound seems to only be if the RPMs are almost at the point of upshifting and when you let off the accelerator. That's what makes it sound more like a diesel engine brake which again I'll say I love because I've tried out trucking and have done local delivery in commercial trucks. Let's say I loved when I was trying out trucking and was in the mountains. While still giving it gas while in V4 mode, usually with cruise control on, the drone isn't as bad.

To be honest, if you can't stand the drone and don't like the V4 mode you might as well do a tune that turns AFM off. The dual flapper valve for dual exit mufflers like mine should work in theory if you want the economy of V4 without the drone but I don't think anybody has tried a dual setup yet and I wouldn't want to cut up the exhaust just to try something like that. I guess I'm saying I don't want to be the guinea pig lol.

I have a 14in magnaflow, offset single in/out. Trying it with the flapper stuck open right now. I am surprised by how much I like it. V4 bothers me less than I thought.

I'm really debating whether or not I should invest in some American Racing Headers for the truck. I feel that they would free up a considerable amount of power along side a tune, BUT, am worried they will be too loud to daily drive. I know a few members have ARH on here and would like some input as to how they are on a day to day basis.

Here are some videos though;

2014 6.2 ARH and Corsa Catback

2014 5.3 ARH and Corsa Catback

I checked with my muffler shop today about the cost to install a Flowmaster super 44, single in, duel out, double flappers, pipe on out. I'm only concerned about if the flappers would sit side by side space wise and if the spring rate on the flappers would be too strong due to them sharing the exhaust flow. Might have to rotate the flappers to get them both to fit. :dunno: I will look at the other exhaust system I have in storage and see. I'm also a little nervous about welding too close to the flappers. Might warp and cause some binding. I guess it would be a LOT cheaper to just get a Range V4 delete. But you never know? I've done dumber things. Obviously, I bought three 2014s in a row. LOL.

The '03 in my Sig is my current DD until my '15 comes in. I've had the truck modded like it is for 7 years. I decided the '15 will not have headers due to how loud they are. I absolutely love the sound then you get on it, but as a DD it's just too loud for me. I still have my snowmobile and motorcycle loud, but I'll settle for "just" a cat back for my next truck. The newer trucks are much quieter in the cab, but I can't imagine it quiets it down much. If I was dead set on headers again, I would definitely look into a touring style cat back to quiet it down the best I could. Another thing headers allow is a lot more "combustion" noises (both good and bad) into the cab because there stock cast manifolds actually do a fair bit of sound absorption vs thin header tubing.

Instead of 2 flappers after the muffler, just do 1 before it.

I thought someone on here tried that and didn't work as well. I could be wrong though.

I'm curious of the same. I want to do headers but not for a while

I had wanted to put headers on my 98, but never got them. So of course I want headers for my '14 but it won't be any time soon. I'm sure by the time I can get headers there will be a few to choose from, unless now there's probably only 2 or 3. I will probably just get shortys so I won't have to mod the exhaust and they got to be ceramic coating. Anybody know if there's any available now that are shortys and have ceramic coating?

If you combine the headers with the Corsa Touring, instead of the Sport, the truck is MUCH, MUCH quieter when cruising around and driving on the highway. Infact, I'm pretty sure it was quieter than my factory exhaust and drones a lot less as well. When you get on the gas it has a really nice bark, but it's still very reasonable. It was almost too quiet for me so I quickly installed a exhaust cutout and leave it partially open. The Sports on the other hand are freaking wild with headers. I would not recommend them unless you want to sound like a badass race car.

I have headers + Corsa Touring on my 6.2L crew cab and AR headers with the Corsa Sport on my regular cab, so I've seen how they sound back to back. On the crew cab, I was originally planning on running the factory exhaust with the headers but there was way too much drone in that case. The factory muffler wasn't designed to deal with headers.

I've done long tube headers on my last 5 vehicles, so I've lived with them on both my daily drivers and performance vehicles, and they are VERY, VERY easy to live with if done right.

I run Gibson shorty ceramic coated header they were only $500 shipped to my door

Pretty much this, I get people stopping me telling me how amazing it sounds. I even had a guy stop during a green light while I was waiting to turn just to talk to me. If I get on it next to some one I usually scare the shit outa them and can see them swerve in shock so I really have to be careful of my surroundings when I boot it. I had my brother drive it once so I could hear how loud it was when the exhaust was pointing at me. I couldn't believe how loud it was , now if people have their window down, good jabs of the throttle are of limits out of respect for their hearing.

As my truck has the Corsa with the dual exits under the bumper, I cut the pipes right after the axle and put on two turn downs. It actually looks a lot better and makes the volume bit more reasonable when idling or putzing around the neighbourhood.
