LOL< my 5 year old and I are both built like big boys, but not quite as big as the reflection showed! He likes helping around the house and on mechanical things.

That's memories Brother and he will all way's remember them too. My Dad let me torque all of the main cap bolts and Head bolts on a 283 chevy engine when I was 10 and I thought I was the $hit assembling an engine!

Sweet! My dad was a ME and did all his own auto work. I've decided to at least do the oil changes to teach the boy.

Has anyone seen/heard the new Dynomax cat back system with the integrated flapper in the VT muffler (part # 38531)? I'm thinking it might be the answer I'm looking for... stainless, nice sound, NO DRONE, and reasonable price.

My buddy has one on his 09. He likes it. It sounds good as well. Great for the price in my opinion.

The cutaway look in side of the Dynomax looks a little sketchy to me. That little spring? But I cannot personally comment. IDK? It might be amazing tho'. And if you did have a problem with it. I would hate to ponder... :dunno:

I built a single in dual out system using a dynomax vt muffler- i basically used the pipes from their kit and substitute the vt muffler. I still get the v4 drone - if thats what you wanna call it. The exhaust sound is perfect when not in v4 it not loud at all unless you have your foot into it. I cannot compare it to another exhaust on this truck because I have nothing to compare it to , All I can say is I ran Gibson on my 2010 5.3 and my 2005 6.0 and those had a drone at cruising speed on the highway and this does not. The kits are relatively cheaper and come with a nice clamps vs the cheap u bolt clamps. I think I built my exhaust for 350.00

Exhaust system mods completed today. I'm very happy with the results. Went with a Flowmaster Super 50 Series single inlet/dual outlet to stainless steel dual walled oval tips. The shop incorporated my flapper valve which was cut off the stock system. The flapper was installed. Upstream of the muffler similar to the GM Borla system. Great sound, not obtrusive and none of the V4 issues others have complained of.

Here's a few pics while I figure how to post video.

    • I really appreciate the response.  I guess I was confused about torque angle vs torque angle yield.  The individual bolts don't have a warning on reuse but the part number for the LCA nuts does.   Regarding the purpose of the moog grease fittings on their bolts .. Guessing to reduce possibility of corrosion locking the cams or seizing to the bushing inserts.
    • The top speed is software limited, I don't think there's a way to change it without de-doing the whole truck. If you can get a CAN log per my above post we can try seeing if there's anything obvious going on. What happens when you plug the truck in to charge it, does it ever fully charge up or does it stay at low battery %?
    • The LCA bolts are NOT a one time use fastener.  GM does not have them called out as such at all.   They are torque plus degree, but not a one time use TTY.  Nowhere in the service manual does it call out for replacing the LCA bolts for being one time use.  The factory spec would apply to the Moog bolts as well.    I see two things different.  The Moog bolts are greaseable (which I see no point in) and they don't have one of the washers welded to the bolt like the factory bolts, so they can be used in all 4 positions.      Think about it.  The LCA bolts are now the alignment adjustment point, instead of the UCA bolts like the prior generation.  A bolt that is meant to be adjusted for alignment...would it make sense to make it a one time use component?  How would you get an alignment done in the first place?  You couldn't.       Also.  What TSB exactly?  There is no TSB that I see for 2019-2026 for over-torquing LCA bolts.  There was a PI, PIT5533C, but that covered 2014-2018 body trucks for re-torquing LCA mounting bolts.  But those trucks to a 2019-2026?  Not the same, so PIT5533C does not apply.
    • Nice looking setup!  Is this the kit you got?  If so 211 is a great deal!  https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/trailering-camera-system-86584184   My TT came with a wireless rear camera but it only works on an app or a separate screen they sell so I've decide it's not worth the hassle since it keeps disconnecting and with wireless android auto it's a hassle trying to connect my phone to it.  So I've been thinking about adding the GM camera so it's integrated into the rest of the camera views.   I also found this one which seems to be a different PN & retail price that explicitly states the invisible trailer view https://www.shopchevyparts.com/chevrolet/2024/silverado-2500-hd/electronics/85825715-silverado-2500-trailer-camera-transparent-view-requires-trg-camera-provisions-p-92326971.html?sort=2a
