I just did the Gibson exhaust on my truck. Sounds good with no drone on the highway. Think I paid $520 for the stainless version. Just thought I'd post for people on the fence and worried bout drone. Glad I went this route cause I really didn't want to pay a grand for gm/Borla.

I like the Gibson too. Did you keep the single out? I have the 6.2L and like the existing location. Thanks!

Yep. It's a 3.5 to 4 inch tip out the stock location.

I did the dual sport, 2 pipes out and is in stock location behind the back wheel.

Finally had a chance to clean my truck, so I took a few quick pictures of the new volant. I'm gonna try and make a video as soon as I get a chance

Ok going to throw this idea out there, not sure if it would really work or not, but something I've been thinking about.

So currently my setup is just 14" maganflow with flapper/resonator removed. Sounds great and I'm very pleased. I will soon be getting a set of longtube headers and I know this will increase the sound a good bit. I for one will love it and highly doubt I'd get tired of it. On the other hand, my gf or anyone else that is in my truck or going on a long road trip will probably drive them crazy. So what I'm wondering is if I could have a cutout installed just before the muffler and have a bypass installed with a resonator and it will attach to a Y-pipe just after the muffler. Essentially I'm trying to think if there is a way possible to have the luxury of headers, but with an optional sound deadening method to tame it down when needed. Some might think this is stupid, but just something I've been thinking of.

I came up with this little drawing to show what I'm thinking.

PM me about this. I posted a while back to little responses. I'm on you page and have a few ideas for a system like this [emoji848]

Going to the shop to talk to the guys about which set up I am going to run.
Thinking about 3" to a 14" Magnaflow and cut 3rd cat. Thinking about a single 3" out, but also thought about dual tips... hmm.....

i just did the gibson "metal mulisha" stainless single catback on my '14 reg cab shortbed...love the sound, but afraid the 4" pipe back into a 6" tip is too much free breathing...seems to lag some on take off..has a bit of a flatspot upon acceleration..not enough back pressure im thinking...i really thought the tip would look stupid but its really not too bad...

Interesting, yeah maybe its the back pressure because mine accelerates just fine. I assume the metal mulisha exhaust has a pretty small muffler.

yes it does have a small muffler....the sound is amazing..until v4 happens, then it sounds like a helicopter....may partly be because of the short length of the system..mine is a reg cab shortbed...i havent noticed the crew or ext cab guys saying much about it..after driving it last night and this morning, i cant decide if im keeping it or not...

I don't get the helicopter noise with mine. Id recommend it but its not going to be as loud as yours. Might have to try and find a few more guys with regular cabs and get some input.

Chuck from Houston House of Power runs 4" Exhausts on a ton of their new body silverados and seems to be getting some great results from it.

May pick his brain about the back pressure issue.

I wish I lived closer to houston... I'd take my truck there in a heart beat.

TAKE IT BACK! They actually hold the bolt on record for these new silverados. (At least they did a while back)

They've got some great numbers coming out of their trucks and apparently drive-ability is awesome too.

He is very knowledgeable. I didnt ask about the back pressure loss but did pick his brain about headers and gears as well as tuning.

When i go home i am willing to take the drive.... All 5ish hours just to get a good tune.... I have done it before. Lol
