To be honest i'd make sure you hear it in person before you order/modify exhaust on a V6. I talked with a guy about his exhaust at a gas station and it sounded great at idle and then he took off on a 55mph 2 lane hwy and it sounded like an old L36 3800 V6 with a fart can on it. Horrific!

Kind of hesitant to admit it bout I bought the DBL cab V6. It does everything I need and it's feels a lot better than I thought it would. Any suggestions on an exhaust or will they all sound cheap at higher RPM's? I've seen videos and they sound good at idle but I'm not sold on how will sound in V4 mode or even V6 at higher RPM's...... That in advance fellas. (I've had fully loaded V8's in the past but didn't feel like shelling out the extra cash this go around. I have a few other irons in the fire at the moment.....)

My v6 sounds good at idle. It doesn't not sound like a muscle car v8 when I step on it. I got a flowmaster muffler. No flappy valve either.

My thoughts exactly. Just thought someone who may have had more experience may have some useful info. It's hard to believe I can get anything close to the sound I want out of a V6. If that's the case I guess I just saved some money I spend somewhere else

How do you like the Corsa so far? What kind did you get, Sport or Xtreme? I'm looking into them, and I'm liking them more than the Borla alternative.

How's cruising with it? I want something that'll be more aggressive when accelerating and idling, but for the amount I drive, I still want to be able to not go insane. Guess I'm too picky.

My Corsa cat back is the Sport sound model; all of the 2014 - 2015 Corsa cat back systems for Silverado / Sierra 1500 trucks are Sport. They do not offer a Touring sound for these years/models. Check out the catalog at Corsa.com.

Yes, it is aggressive when accelerating, but when cruising, I can hardly hear it. Fit and finish is top quality and I couldn't believe how much lighter it is vs. the stock one.

Guys looking for some suggestions

I have a 6.2 and had the muffler chopped off almost a year ago. Left the resonator and flapper, and the sound was great. No drone, chopper sound etc

A few months later the flapper would act up and rattle like crazy very randomly. It drove me nuts, and more recently was getting a bit of a rattle for a few seconds at start up. Dealer won't warranty cause I've chopped the muffler

Anyway, had enough of it and wanted a new tip setup so took it into a shop a few days ago to have the tips done and flapper removed. They said removing the resonator wouldn't affect the sound much and needed to pull it to create the set up I wanted (two black tips side by side Corsa style) so I said fine

Picked up my truck alter that day and fired it up and its crazy loud, especially cold start. Its a bit too much. Piss off the neighborhood loud. For city driving its fine I could deal with it but I do lots of highway driving and the sound/more drone would be too much. Chopper sound isn't bad, but is there a little and the drone at some rpm ranges is worse

I'm looking for a muffler, probably Borla hoping to tone it down a bit and of course reduce possible drone. Any suggestions? I am also considering throwing the resonator back in where I chopped the muffler off originally to tone it down cause I think its a straight thru design and would fit. I should have paid for a cat back right off the bat but hoping I don't have to go that route now that I got new tips etc

What are thoughts or experience on throwing the resonator where the muffler was, or muffler recommendations. thanks

I just had the Magnaflow 12909 installed in place of the stock muffler. I had them cut off the flapper valve as well. Fit perfectly. Definitely louder but not obnoxious or anything. Very deep sound. Left the stock resonator on as well as the full stock tailpipes so I'm sure that quiets it down a bit.

I bought a couple feet of 3.5" pipe (just in case) but didn't end up needing it.

Looking for a very deep throaty sound, but not obnoxious. Don't want to spend a lot. Truck is a 2014 5.3. Have never heard the "drone" that everyone speaks of, so I don't know how I feel about that. Truck is basically stock. Any and all thoughts? Thanks guys.

I just put a Flowmaster Deltaflow 50 series on my latest Z71. Took first road trip right after and it wasn't bad at all. I have previously had a delete muffler then a Magnaflow 14 inch on my other 2014s. Cold start up is just right, AFM chopper not very bad, nice little growl when needed and with the Flowmaster baffling as opposed to the Maggie straight thru design you won't sacrifice any low end torque.

So I've had the 14" magnaflow installed for a few months now, about 4,000 miles. While it does sound good, I'm looking for something a little bit louder. Watched a bunch of corsa videos on youtube and I think that's what I'm after. What I'd like to do is just do a muffler swap. Does anybody know if they just sell the muffler?

Also, I haven't been able to find any good drive by videos of a corsa sport. Can one of you guys that has the corsa installed make a drive by vid? Really trying to hear it while hard on the gas instead of just a rev video.

You haven't heard the drone because you still have the flapper valve. If you remove it then you'll get a drone. The more aggressive and louder the exhaust is without the valve the more drone you'll hear.

Well with the flapper still in place, how can I get that very deep sound?

You disable AFM so it won't go into 4cyl mode and then put any muffler you want on it. As long as AFM is enabled then you are going to have unwanted sounds when it goes into 4 cylinders. Everybody is different on how they feel about the V4 drone but I have owned 3 other V8 chevy trucks with a flowmaster on them and love the sound but I don't think I am going to get that sound out of this truck till I tune out V4.

Are there any exhaust mufflers that sound similar to corsa? Really wanting a corsa to replace my 14" magnaflow. Just don't want to purchase a full system.

Lol you go through mufflers like I go through shoes. Let us know what you go with. Some people have been lucky and been able to buy the Corsa Sport muffler by itself. I've looked around and can't seem to find just the muffler.

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
