Sooooo I bought a 2/4 Rough Country lowering kit for my 2017 GMC Sierra. Rough Country said this kit would work. When I got it I had it installed, after being called several times about fitment issues I went to the garage to see what was up. The cancer plates wouldn't work with the Camber bolt, I called Rough Country they said to use the 2014-15 Camber bolts, they worked. So the truck is lowered in the front 2".

Moved to the back of the truck, I watched the tech remove the factory rear components and start assembling the new rear. He hung the new rear hangers, and installed the shocks that came with the kit ( removing the factory hangers were a chore..popping rivets) he bolted everything up and even installed the 2 shims that came to mount under the transmission. When the truck came off the lift it was still high in the rear. it was supposed to be an even drop but the front is low and the back is too high!!! I called rough country and they were saying that kit would not fit and they won't make one for the 16,17,18 and 19 trucks!!! But I told them you sold me kit that u said it would fit I even have the sticker off the box that said it was for a 2014-18 truck!! I drove the truck home and at 75mph it has this violent vibration.... so no discussion needed if you see below thats the outcome of a 2/4 drop by rough country. I measured the front from middle if wheel to the fender and was 18inches both sides, I did the rear it was 21.5 inches. thats 3.5 inches difference. so my front is actually 3.5 instead of 2 inches. now I need to get the back down lower. can someone recommend a complete REAR ONLY! 3/6 inch adjustable lowering kit that would give me an even look and a non violent vibration ride?????

What kit did you use??? and does the truck vibrate 75 miles an hour? I'm at 3.5 in front and I need to get to 6 in the back.

can you please quote the kit for the rear?

 No problems with vibration, rides great.

Question. Does this kit mount the strut to under the lower control arm? If so return this kit right away. Because that's dangerous.   I use mcg kits on the k2 trucks i lower unless the person specifically tells me they want belltech

 

Also your kit came with a spacer. Im betting the shop flipped the strut and added thr spacer.  Take the spacer out and it will lift the front. But the RC kit is not good at all (the front)

No vibrations. I had a slight shimmy on take off, but after I put the transmission spacer in it went away

For some reason I'm struggling to picture this so I'll ask you guys if my train of thought is right.

I bought the Belltech 5-6" flip kit. From what I can tell, it's the 7" flip kit with an adjustable reversed shackle hanger. Depending on which holes I use it's 5 or 6 inches, with the stock shackles. This is correct? 

 

If so, if I set the shackle hangers at 6" and install my 2" drop shackles I'd end up with a 4" drop, correct?

And a 7" drop of I installed a 1" lift shackle?

 

And if I decided I wanted to go back to stock, i could remove the flip kit and put the stock shackles back in with the reverse hangers and be 1" lower than stock in the back. And the 2" drop shackles would be 2" lift shackles at that point, am I on the right track? 

 

Also, I'm only going 2" in the front and starting at 6" in the back. If I need to be at 5" I'll put the drop shackles in at 1". Other than a shim for the transmission, should I order anything else just in case? I haven't lowered a truck in a long time and just want to have everything ready. Do you need offset bushings for just 2" spindles? 

 

Sorry in advance, I'm just trying to make sure I have everything before I start. I don't want to have to order more in the middle of doing everything.

Bottom holes with stock shackle is 5. Top holes with stock shackle is 6.

That part wasn't really in question. I get that it depends on which hole is used. But is the kit the same as the 7" kit, but with reverse hangers?

It's 7'' with the stock hangers and shackles. 

 

5 or 6 inches with the Belltech lift hangers and stock shackles. 

 

The lift hanger changes the way the shackle mounts. Stock hanger the shackle mount from the top, the lift hanger it mounts from the bottom.  

 

and yes, if you use drop shackles you can raise it up but you need to use the lift hanger as well, otherwise it will lower it more, or you could raise it to 6 with the stock hanger and a 1'' lift shackle, but @Nasty says this will ride like shit and bind if you use the 1'' shackle.

I have a set of inez shackles which are a bit longer than most 1" lift shackles so i think theyll clear. Thay should also lower the truck half inch if you are at 6 with a lift hanger

It's literally longer transmission mount bolts and a couple of spaces.  You could just buy some bolts and washers from Home Depot and do the same thing for a few bucks.
