You did a great job on the install looks like factory, I'm still running mine without the harness but I will be installing it in the future

I've only had them in since Saturday night but haven't noticed any flickering and yes they now function as drl's as well. One thing I did notice is the passenger side shuts off a split second after the driver side. They do both come on at the same exact time. I assume its from the hd harness being a single input and its just the left over voltage going to the passenger side. Its not an issue, just an observation. Also, its hard to tell but it seems like when they are on as drl's its at full power instead of being dimmer.

They probably are running at full intensity. Since LEDs take less power than the halogens, the reduced power for the DRL function is designed to work with the power requirements for the halogens, so as stated, since LEDs draw less power, they need less power to be at full intensity, and therefore will be at a greater intensity than the stock halogens would've been at

Thank you! I spent way more time on it than I had planned but it was worth it for the outcome. Would have been much quicker if the harness had been long enough from the get go to put everything on the drivers side.

One question I have for you is did you adjust the aim on yours at all afterwards? I feel like they are slightly high and I may play with aiming them. I haven't been flashed by anyone yet so maybe they are ok.

I think you should ok, i had to adjust mine because I lowered my truck and that made my lights point up.

The relay harness functions strictly as an on/off switch for the light's 12v battery power source. So regardless of the inputs voltage, the relay can only be off or full 12v on.

Gotcha, so the harness makes the bulbs have full power all the time. One other thing I did notice is the fans on these bulbs are definitely noisy little things.

So after a week or so of running the 9011 65w HIR bulbs (2350 lumens), I'd say they are an improvement for someone not wanting to do a HID kit or projector replacement. It's noticeable. I don't think it's as good as the 2008 low beam reflector with a stock H11 55w bulbs and no where near mine with shoehorned H9 65w low beams.

I'll likely wait for a application specific HID projector to come along. I'm not big on hacking up stuff.

I put a set of PUTCO white headlight and fog light bulbs in today. They "look" whiter in the garage, but the before and after picture shows some change in the beam pattern. I will see tomorrow how they look and perform on the way into the office. Tried to get the 9011 bulbs but PUTCO doesn't offer them yet from what the shop said.

Ordered these (the 9012's)....wondering if I made the right choice. They are backordered and should ship tomorrow. Maybe I should have gone 9011.

Save your time and money, the PUTCO 9012 ION White headlight and the H16 ION white fog light bulbs are horrid. I was afraid the light output would be diminished from what I saw in the garage last night, fears were confirmed this morning on the road. The beam pattern is not even, very spotty and the light output is considerably less than the stock bulbs.

Pulling them out tonight and going back to stock unless Sylvania makes a better replacement bulb. I have used them in the past and they have always been equal to stock output if not a litter better.

I think I am going to go the route as one of the other posters and get the bulbs from Home Depot, they have the Phillips 9012 and the 9011. I can mod the 9011 and use them then find some better fog lamp bulbs.

Even though the brightness gains are not large, there is some gain (1875 lumens to 2350) in going from 9012 55w stock bulbs to 9011 65w bulbs. So, I thought I'd show what's needed to do the swap.

First, one outside tab needs trimming. Fortunately, it's a plastic base. I used a small end nipper and then an exacto knife to clean it up.

Next, the inside ribs need to be removed.

I placed it in a vice and very lightly tightened it as shown.

Then I used a narrow, very sharp wood chisel and a very small hammer to lightly tap and cut the ribs out.

Plug and play!
