2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers

Installed an Undercover Flex a couple weeks back. Really easy install doing it by myself. It was cold out, didn't want to make the wife help if I could do it myself. I didn't install the drain tubes cause I don't like the idea of drilling in my bed to widen one of the drain holes. I think I'll do the clear vinyl tubing and 90 degree PVC elbow and go out of the tie down hole.

Had some pretty heavy rain these past couple days. This cover is about 97% water proof and really secure. I should be testing it out in the snow this weekend when I head up to the mountains. Overall I'm impressed with the cover and satisfied with my purchase.

My Tonnopro Hardfold continues to to do a good job. It keeps the bed dry, it's easy to remove and doesn't sacrifice any bed space to get the job done. I've had the cover for about 6 or 8 months I don't remember exactly. The downsides, the clamps are kinda awkward, if you don't stow them properly before folding the cover you'll tear the vinyl top, the cover isn't the best looking cover around but it does the job.

Ordered the PowerTrax Pro MX today. $2180.00 tax and all. Yeah it's pricy but this truck is probably my last one so I bought what I wanted........I think I don't suppose I will know for sure until after I've had it and used it for awhile. Anyway, I got tired of trying to decide and just bought it. My requirements for a cover were: being able to lock it securely as possible, and being able to haul whatever I needed to without having to remove the cover. The powered opener was just a bonus.....it does have a useful feature in that where ever you stop it, it locks there. Now will see how long it takes to get here.....I didn't pay for any shipping so it could be several weeks. Ordered it through a local business.

I wasn't really planning to buy a tonneau cover just yet but started checking out some of the items mentioned in this thread last night and found that Bak is having a sale right now and so I ordered the Roll-X today for $600 shipped. http://www.bakflip.com/p-349-roll-x-tonneau-cover.aspx I should probably buy something for my wife now.

Does the Roll-X have drain tubes you have to route through the bed?

Got my bak roll-x in this week, it's a great looking cover but it needs a better seal at the bulkhead there is a good bit of space there. I was going to get the vp but I liked the idea of rolling it up instead.

No, the way it's made everything runs off the top of the cover. It has seals all the way around.

Thank you. That's a huge relief! I hadn't even thought about the possibility of needing to route drain tubes when I ordered mine yesterday and really didn't want to deal with that.

Finally got around to installing my diamondback cover and tool bin. Installed in about 30 mins. This cover is ridiculously solid. Everything about it is rugged and well made. You could literally have about 5 grown men jumping on this cover at the same time and it wouldn't break. Maybe even more because it holds up to 1600lbs on top of it. I wouldn't be surprised if it out lasted the truck with exceptions to maybe weather gaskets......which I must say are also pretty beefy. I've already had 2 people ask about it in parking lots.

It's been raining like crazy here in San Diego due to El Niño and there isn't a single drop in the bed. Exceeding my expectations.

I know the look isn't for everyone. Some prefer a sleek low profile look. This cover definitely isn't that. It added a bold rugged look to my truck.....that I love. I don't have one complaint yet. I'll have to see how it is loading my quad on top of it.

Yes the tool bin does just drop in. It is 13in deep so if you have long items you can slide them under the bin in the bed. Has two smaller compartments on the sides and a third larger compartment in the middle. The sides pretty much just over lap the bed rails so it hangs suspended. It's made very sturdy. Very similar to the fold-a-cover caddy as far as the way it sits in the truck. The cover clamps down on the edges of the bin as well as the lock rods pivot through the side of the bin under the bed rails. So it won't move around or anything. I like it better than a tool box bc it is out of site and the cover does a great job keeping things secured.

If I was still working out of my truck, this would be the cover I would buy. But you are correct, it is the wrong look for my truck. It is an impressive cover/tool box though.

Will the Amp bed extender fit under a BakFlip? I just ordered a cover tonight & was wondering. I'll find out soon enough, but I am sure someone here has already tried it?
