I'm not a fan of painted silver interior trim, it's scratches easily and looks like crap over time. I wonder if that's brushed aluminum; especially since this is their Platinum package pictured.

Not a fan at all but I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person. No nevermind, it's super ugly

Dashboard above center stack is usable space. That's a good idea.

interior looks and the front looks nice. The side profile is almost identical to the 2004-13 models. Not enough change IMHO. Now the rear kicker will be the MPG ratings since it has shed 700 pounds. If it hits 25 to 30mpg with the V6 or V8 due to the weight loss it will be a game changer.

I will believe 700 lbs when I see it on some scales. Range Rover claimed 900 pound reduction on there SUV, turned out to be 200 lbs. 30 mpg. no way.

I'm jealous of the panoramic sunroof.

 

Yes, I understand many truck owners don't need this luxury but it sure would've been nice to see it on the Denalis and HC's as an option; considering many GM cars have this roof already, it shouldn't have been hard to do it.

Decent cosmetic upgrades...still a Ford.

I like the interior on it. I don't mind console shifters though. Column/Console/Dial, they all have ups and downs. I hate the console shifter in my truck because it blocks the HVAC controls. Console you lose the center console space, dial I guess there is less downs besides it not feeling right.

 

GM's 2014 interior looks like nobody thought it through and put stuff in random places. Specifically the left side of the steering wheel where the trailer brake goes. It looks like to me someone said, hey, we got all this extra space in the shape of square, let's throw some round knobs in it.

I was expecting better looks. IMO a close look shows a lot is similar like the lines of the cab and doors. It was a clean design before ,now it looks like they grafted on a busy grille and headlights and changed the tailgate. No question the engineering underneath is a big change. If the aluminum is as durable as they claim then then the likely superior MPG and seat of the pants power and tow/haul ratings could attract new customers.

I don't think Ford fans will get to thumb their nose at GM with the whole redesign of the Silverado....the F-150 followed suit, it looks more like a refresh than a true redesign too.

I just bought my 14 sierra and I gotta say, I was worried for a bit about the new F150. I had an 06 F150 before this but when I saw these new Sierra's I got that "I gotta get one" feeling. Yet I couldn't fully bury the feeling that I might regret it when I was looking at the "atlas"/ new F150 designs, but after seeing the finished product today, Im sooooo happy I bought the Sierra. Im just not as impressed with the finished redesign as I thought I would be. I was worried that I'd want to trade in the sierra in a year or 2 if I really liked the the F150, but now I can happily sit in my new GMC for years and years to come and know that as far as I'm concerned, we Sierra owners have the nicest looking trucks on the road.

I don't see the big hoopla, either. I know the GM twins weren't world-changing, and this is no different. This design will only help Ford maintain sales, not increase by the leaps and bounds they thought.

      Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.

      I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.

      4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.

      2020 Sierra 2500 windows rolling down

      2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
