so the 'blue-ing' of my interior is getting there....

i installed my speedo inlays from us-speedo. i LOVE them - they look soooo good!!

there are a couple of thing that need to change...

1 - the black part behind the tach is wrong. when things 'light up' they are not correct (head lights are on but the abs logo is illuminated). it looks like the black part is from the speedo inlay instead of the tach inlay - it's likely just the wrong back part got grabbed during assembly. i'm not too concerned. i emailed us-speedo over the weekend and i'm sure they'll send out a correct tach inlay right away (they've been great to deal with so far)

you can see below that something is definitely not right with the black part on the us-speedo inlay

2 - i need to remove the stock red LEDs behind the needles - they don't really illuminate the needles at all and i think the red looks goofy since everything else is blue. i'll be ordering both blue and white LEDs. i'll put blue in first. if they don't cut it then i change them to white

so here is the dash (i did paint the plate that shows voltage/temp/gas/oil pressure and i painted all the needles)... day and night shots....

and i continued to blue my interior buttons/knobs

the only 'blue-ing' left to do for buttons/knobs are my controls in the steering wheel and the 3 white LEDs in the rear view mirror

i'm really liking how it looks and can hardly wait to start adding footwell lighting and some other lighting accents

i will be posting a bunch of 'how-to' posts for the blue-ing of the buttons in my build thread in the next few days

look forward to the how toos but seems screwy that all of the idicator lights are messed up. like were you meant to black out the un used one(s)? seems like it should not have been terribly hard to copy the location of all the indicators correctly.

I remeber back year ago some people printed their own backdrops for thier clusters using polymer(?) sheets and they turned out much the same as the product you got. Have you ever seen or considered this?

So how do you access the front camera? Also this doesn't come with the front camera you used correct?

Looking at this or one other option for adding a front camera.

Why do both sides have km/h?

so i already heard back from us speedo....

Hey Chris,

So I had my parts guy take a look at your pic and it didn't take long for us to realize he accidently sent you a speedo colorband instead of a tach colorband. Which is why it has all the wrong icons. Now some of the icons we make look a little different but they mean the same thing, mainly the brake icon. Ours just says "brake" on it instead of the actual icon. But other than that you should be all set. We'll send the right one out today.

Go ahead and just keep the other one and show it off to a friend :)) haha

looks good , How did you paint - temp ,batt .fuel, oil plate

the kit from us speedo came with a stainless steel plate - i just painted it black. there is a piece that is stuck to the back that has the blue/red/white tints on it. that easily is removed before painting

see my above reply to Chris regarding the replacement part that's already on it's way

printing your own back drops for the cluster - that would be really really really cool. it's not hard at all to swap the backdrops. i didn't know you could do that.... now you've got me thinking! ha! ha!

Got my trim painted. Had some paint mixed in a can and used the spray max 2k clear. Came out good. Ordered Klearz for them and some retro rubber from TRS. Glad to get this project going.

Did the first oil change. While it was in I had the Chevy CAI & Performance Muffler installed. Sounds like a truck now and not a Prius. Love the growl it has.

It is gonna be a trade off or wash on the 2 mpg that it is suppose to help. I love putting my foot in it a little more now. So the increase will probably be non-existent. ;)

What exhaust is that, the Corsa? Is it just a muffler or a catback? Looks very nice!! Would love to hear it. I'm thinking of the GM Borla.

It is just the Chevrolet "Performance Exhaust" - Part # 23462045

I thought about doing the Catback Duel out the side but just decided to keep it simple, and not void warranty, but get a little more growl.
