Why are people so concerned about this topic. I do not understand it. Just drive it. End of story. And yes, even if you can't figure out why the truck has it, it is to save fuel.

Because those of us that bought a 2014 truck have a vibration and drone when the AFM kicks in. It is like an under power dogging that will not go away. When in town I have to run in tow mode and it stops. GM has a huge problem and are not fixing it. Keep your 2013 and enjoy.

Try M5 in town stays out of V4 shifts better over 55 click up to m6. Work good for me. At least for me these trucks are awesome.

If I wanted a manual transmission I would have bought one.

I have absolutely no problems with the AFM in my truck. I guess I'm lucky. I hardly even notice when it kicks in or out and no drone or vibration.

And you hardly notice it, because your used to it. That would be my guess. I hated it and yes I could notice it. Mines turned off, one of the best things I could have done, IMO.

No I don't notice it because my last truck, a 2007 LTZ 5.3L, was awful!! It droned and vibrated like folks on here talk about. In comparison this 2014 is a dream. I wonder if the 6.2L is the difference. Tapatalk via iPhone 5s

When in town I notice it a little, after 55 not so much. I wouldn't call it a problem, when I get around to a tune Ill keep it,just after 55. I didn't notice it till the exhaust.

My 2 cents....I came from a 2011 with oil burning issues and yes the AFM on the 5.3 was crap for sure. Before I tuned it I had a borla touring and yes it did drone slightly. Post tune it was just fine with the AFM turned off.

Fast forward to my new 6.2L...I fully intend to put a range module on it when supported fully as I have had one of those as well. I have to admit that the AFM on this truck is WAY better then my 2011. Yes I can feel it some but it really is night and day. Drone is no issue with stock exhaust. I really don't plan any exhaust mods as I tow a TT and cant stand the noise at highway speed for 2000 mile trips. Maybe I'm just getting old?

The range module is something I could do or a GM tech? Where do I get the range module? And no you are not getting old. Just wiser.

Yeah you can purchase it direct from them or autoanything usually offers a discount. They are not fully supported for 2014 yet although some on here run them without problems. I used one previously that worked flawless. I will just wait until the bugs are out and get another. Yes you can install it. It simply plugs into your OBD port, bottom under dash. Literally plug it it in, thats it.

I bought it from Range Tech today. The other place was out. I put my VIN in and it was accepted as compatible.

Tracking shows it will be delivered Monday.
