That is exactly how my 2014 knob operates. Don't know what's wrong with yours

Must have to do with the build. My 2008 is an American built truck, the 2014 I drove was Canadian made. My brother also has a 2008 Silverado and his knob works like the 2014 both Canadian trucks. Mines the only one to actually do anything.

I would assume your right. Canada has a mandatory DRL law so I'm assuming they programmed against manually disabling it.

Ok it's really easy there's a plug on your headlight just under the battery I believe the wire you want is gray but I'm not sure you will need a test light the yellow one in that plug will make you think you can use it but don't so with parking lights on test that plug there's like 5 wires on it 2 of the wires will be hot with the parking lights on but don't use Yellow tie in to the gray I think it is and that's your trigger pin 86 on a relay pin 30 goes to your + battery pin 85 battery ground pin 87 will be your new head light feed so here's what I did pull the bulb cover off and drilled a small hole just to the right of the round cover cut the red wire going to the headlight bulb and that's where 87 will tie into make sure to tape the other end of the red wire so it don't short your bcm

Update on my Drl kill with relay a guy told me he would like to run just parking lights the way I had it it couldn't be done so I started thinking and rewired my headlights like the and it works just like factory but with no drls 4 pin relay 87 to headlight bulb red 30 red headlight feed from bcm so your cutting the red wire at your bulb and 87 to bulb and 30 to bcm side of wire 86 goes to your parking light + 85 to ground

Thanks!! I'm gonna try it the next time I'm at the dealer. I'll post when/if I make any headway.

There's a way to disable them with 2 relays I've done my 15 silverado email for more info on it [email protected]
