Yes. I had this problem on a 2012. You need to make the dealer repair or replace any parts with ANY water damage or you will find out the hard way what MOLD can do to you or your family. Mold problems could take years to notice and your warranty might be out by then.

mine leaked from driver side sun visor today. Have been in torrential down pours with no issue before, so maybe the gasket just started to go.
Anyone have a service bulletin on this or anything?

Mine leaked from the back window also. The dealer fixed it with no problems, until I had a cell phone antenna wire run under the carpet. The pad was still soaked weeks later. Dealer had to pull all the carpets out for a few days.

I am on round 3 of leaks on the driver side, why have a split gasket on the roof of anything???

Can someone from GM answer why a split gasket is needed on the GPS antenna???

Turned my 2014 GMC Sierra Double Cab in for wet carpets and when I went by today to get my sun glasses, the interior had been stripped out completely, carpets, seats and head liner. I was told it is either the back window or the 3rd brake light.

 

To date:

1. Warped side rail cover = awaiting parts to come in.

2. Rust and Wax covering on the frame coming off = have to wait for the kit to repair the issue. Coming in from Canada.

3. Water leak and wet carpets.

4. Spray in bed liner covered up the plugs for the extra bed hooks = have to drop off at dealer to send back for further repairs.

 

All this on a truck less than two weeks off the lot.

 

UGH!! Didn't have these types of issues with my 2012 Chevy. I really liked the interior of the 2014 but not the issues.

Bought My 2014 less than 2 months ago and noticed the leak myself this morning . Drivers side flip down visor area . Same as others have posted above. Took to my Dealer they can't schedule any maintenance on this till next monday...6 days from now. its supposed to rain all week and its only going to get worse... im not going to take this lieing down.... its a brand new truck and i WILL get a new headliner and anything else thats damaged in this . I have a new baby that im toting around in my truck and the last thing i need is Mold inside...

Reading all about all these issues on the new trucks doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies about future GM vehicles. If these things keep up I hate to say it but my next truck won't be a GM, especially with 34 separate recalls in 2014 alone. I really like GM but they can't seem to get their act together. I know it's a first year redesign but you would think that with technology and all the R&D a company shouldn't have that many problems with a first year vehicle.

 

The 2015 Titans look promising with the new 5.0 Cummins going in.

That's because it's not real world testing, in real world conditions. Apparently GM didn't do any testing in frigid freezing winter conditions or they would have figured out that the adaptive (flapper) valve in the exhaust freezes up and prevents the truck from starting. Also if GM would have done proper water testing there wouldn't be all these leaks in the cabs of these trucks.

On the other hand if GM says that they did proper testing then that would mean they let the trucks out on the market knowing about the issues.

 

Everyone lets these manufactures off the hook by saying "that's why you should never buy a first year redesign". To me that's just BS!! Don't release a redesign until you have done proper testing and have full confidence in the vehicles abilities. I have always bought GM, my wife drives a 2013 traverse, but this might be my last one.

 

I have had 2 waters leaks in the cab, a defect front bumper, a bad driver side dash vent assembly, Improperly installed carpet, vibrations in the gas pedal/floorboard, loss of power, goofy shifting, undercoating is flaking off and now the front rims get very hot while the rears stay fairly cool, even on a short drive with minimal braking. I'm starting to think this may be contributing to the loss of power I am experiencing. WOW this truck only has 3000 miles on it and its falling apart.

Ok so last night we got a pretty good rain shower and today I stopped by a car wash to vacuum out my loaner truck. I looked over and saw a guy with a 14 Sierra and I could tell he was very upset, so I was curious and went over to talk to him.

He only had this truck for about a week and was upset because when he opened the back doors to vacuum after his wash he found the back window and carpet soaking in water. Apparently with the rain and the wash it made for a real good mess.

Trust me, I was almost speechless (almost I said) their was a lot of water. I told him it's probably the third brake light or maybe the back window, but not to feel too bad about it because I have had two leaks in mine so far.

He said this is just another thing pissing me off about this truck. I am going to the dealership right now, I financed this truck thru the dealership, they can have this POS back!

He got In his truck, somehow managed to smoke the tires, and headed to the dealership. Wow, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in that sales department when he got there.

Just came across this thread after looking into the MN lemon law statutes... This latest problem has sent me over the edge with rage, GM really has gone and done it this time with the 14's. I have had tons of issues with this truck; cab flex broke my windshield in half after 200 miles, lose driver seat the morons at the dealer couldn't fix so I did it myself, horrible trans shifting issues that no one will address, toe was never aligned from the factory, condensation in my headlights, all the fun quirks in their great infotainment system, no radio reception, the list goes on!!

 

After driving to work one morning, my radio sh!ts the bed...pull over and I find the rear passenger carpets and pad soaked, pulled off the sill plate and there was an inch + of standing water in the channel where the stereo wires sit, pad was soaked all the way under the front passenger seat to the rear corner of the cab. Somehow this water ran down the rear cab wall, making its way into the factory Bose amp and frying it. My truck was already scheduled for service because the pile of sh!t was never aligned from the factory, and I must have gotten some factory seconds for tires (GY SRA's) because after 3k miles they were half gone and the tread was literally flaking off. (My current loaner has the same tires, 100 miles on this Silverado and the tires are doing the same thing lol) Dealer tells me 24 hours for an approval from GM to replace the tires, but they must install the same brand and model....yeah GY discontinued these already at this point. Sorry but I don't want to deal with this again 3k miles from now. Been a huge battle, 2 weeks of BS from the dealer and they did nothing. I finally got so pissed off nothing was being done and with the added water issue I just dropped it off on 9/20 and told them to deal with it. How the eff does a 24 hours authorization turn into 2 weeks?!?! Here I am still no truck, creeping up on a month. I water tested everything myself since the dealer requested I send them a video while I still had the truck to prove the issue so they could get moving on it. NO leaky sharkfin, sunroof, or TBL, it was coming in at the slider glass, right between the gaskets...very low water pressure too. I requested that they remove the slider and install a fixed glass, DM wouldn't allow that because that would be "changing the build of the vehicle". Such BS! Now they are cutting out the glass and then reinstalling...yeah thats their fix because I guess there have been other cases where the factory didn't run any urethane for 6 inches along the window perimeter where it glues into the cab opening. But I can actually see water pouring in between the slider, not around the frame. And yes, I checked there is urethane all the way around the perimeter and no water got in around the frame of the window.

 

After reading other posts, I am very concerned about my 54K water stained/moldy truck. So needless to say, I am looking to shove this one back down GM's throat. Someone wish me luck, I could really use some at this point.

Mine has been fixed twice for leaks in two different locations, well I open the door today and find a puddle of water sitting in the drivers floorboard again.

My driver side floor mat and headliner was full of water yesterday too. We had rain all day in the DFW metroplex, and still some this morning. I have service scheduled for Monday for the second time. That's the first opening they had. They couldn't find anything the first time around. I'm hoping this time things are better.

Mine, the first time was the shark fin antenna, second time was steering shaft seal in the firewall, this time who knows, trucks going bye bye soon anyways.
