*Update* at the dealer now and they're saying the sunroof seal is bad. On order and I'm scheduled to get it back early next week.

I decided to install the left side grab handle this weekend, when I removed the old plastic window piller I got covered with water .i pulled the headliner to see water actually dripping from the antenna. POed does this antenna just do xm or is it the onstar antenna also

This stopped the leak but is only a temporary fix because I don't know how long the silicone will last.

A lot longer than nothing GM has used.

I don't have a sunroof so it must be leaking from the shark fin. It's going into the dealer on Monday.

Maybe your roof paint and sheet metal is so thin and so porous that water seeps right through it? :crackup:

 

But all jokes aside, I agree with you that that stupid antenna is probably leaking water right through its base. Maybe you can get some gasket sheet material, and make your own gasket? Ace Hardware sells rubber gasket material in sheets, so you can buy some of that and make your own.

Just heard.

Truck was mostly leaking from windshield but also shark fin.

Glad I caught the issue before any headliner staining.

Professional grade. Not on this vehicle.

my 2015 sierra leaking bad water is on driver side floor and piller post and headliner has 4000 miles on it i have this truck because my 2012 leaked like crazy, traded that got screwed because lost my ass on trade in but 2012 leaked back window front window brake light only place it did not leak was sun roof it was bad mold started to grow so i got rid of it bought new one , now that leaks took it to dealer they knew right away shark antenna seal was bad must be recurring thing , told me they cleaned carpet and sucked all water out but when i checked everything was still very wet they did not do , so still at dealer i want my money back or new truck it will never be right headliner is wet only way to fix is to remove windshield put new headliner which you know that will never be right , now I'm wondering if my denali xl yukon will start to leak soon after reading all posts on hear sounds like should be a recall . i was told i could take my truck home i said know you can have it

yes on single sentence, just got called the dealer they said have permission from gmc to replace headliner and carpet , I still don't like this I'm sure they will scratch all kinds of stuff , I just want a truck that does not leak

Terrible shifting, my paint has defects, loud rear suspension, terrible frame coating, and now a nice leak in the roof! $50,000 truck! Unacceptable! Next truck.....Ford f-150!!!

As you see it's just a luck of the draw. Between Ford and GM, there's a ton of these things being cranked out from the factory. You're going to find issues. Good luck with the Ford, they're nice trucks but you're delusional if you think switching brands is going to guarantee no problems.

Oh yeah... my roof started leaking today too. I'm guessing it's a combination of all the rain plus temps hovering just above freezing. The truck is left outside year round and it's been parked in torrential downpours without issue. The cold probably caused the seal to shrink enough to let water in.

 

Guess I'm up for a dealer visit. First warranty issue since I bought the truck so I can't complain.

I'm not saying the F-150 is perfect by any means, however, over the past 9 years I have leased two Silverado pickup trucks and purchased my current Silverado. Two of the three trucks had problems! I have given GM and their trucks a fair shot! I love my dealership and the service I get. I don't care how many trucks they produce and or how fast they make them.....certain issues are not acceptable and that attitude of "luck of the draw" isn't acceptable when paying $50,000 for a truck!

      The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.

      So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?

      Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.

      "Life is getting back to normal."    I'm driving again and all new joints are operating as expected for this stage of recovery.   My most recent joint replacement still requires a lot of attention but experience has taught me that time will quiet the remaining pain.  I joked with my surgeon that another joint replacement would take my mind off my most recent surgery and he responded by saying the next will be a hip!  There are no plans for another surgery but, unlike me, I don't think he was joking!  I certainly wouldn't refuse further replacement  if required but hope to spend time out of the "post-op"  period.  I can't stress enough that if you have been recommended for total hip, knee or shoulder replacement that you welcome the offer.  Post-op "recovery" may sound daunting and painful, however, this is far better than the insidious erosion of mobility you are currently experiencing.  Imagine what it would feel like to wake up most mornings feeling better and more mobile than you did the previous day!  Prior to my first surgery in June 2025, even getting out of bed was becoming a formidable task.  Since the day after my first surgery, I get out of bed everyday easily and unassisted.  Making the switch to feeling a little better each day rather than a little worse, is hugely motivating!
