Buy today or wait?

Ordered a SLT Crew 4x4 6.2 and it arrived at the dealer today. Should I buy this month or wait until they release the March incentives?

I get the feeling that next months incentives could be much better. Thoughts?

Next months incentives will be everyone gets supplier pricing... instead of the current cash rebates.... If you make out better with supplier pricing rather than rebates, then wait till March. If you are better off with the current incentive offers of cash rebates rather than supplier pricing, then buy now.

Im in the same boat here in Canada. Not sure if I should go with the rebate today or wait until Monday.

My guess is that the rebates should get better, but the price my dealer has thrown at me now is pretty good, actually better than what I expected, so I am really leaning towards making the deal tomorrow. Hopefully there is some insider info on here today. Msrp $56750, dealer say $45200 plus taxes.

Lefty421 is that info pretty good about supplier pricing or is that your guess?

I already have supplier pricing so if that's the case it would be better for me to buy now.

I feel like there should be bigger rebates if sales really are slow and there are that many trucks on the lots. Maybe sales of the higher trim levels are good and that's why we have bigger rebates on the work trucks and V6 models.

Not sure what consumer is going to go nutts on this supplier pricing sales incentive.

There's not a GM dealer in the country right now that wouldn't sell you a truck at invoice (which is less than supplier) and keep the holdback money as profit just to move units.

The two dealers I shopped at before ordering started at invoice price before I said a word.

Strange promotional strategy, but maybe a few will fall for it.

Agreed. Looked at Chevy W/T and GMC Reg Cab basic units. GMC is about 1k higher in price. Much better looking truck imho.

Before I said anything about discounts, we were at invoice plus any applicable incentives. There's a BIG glut of trucks. Only one way to move them.

Wow if I could get a deal like that I think I would even try to get a new truck right now!

  • I had this same debate, but went ahead and purchased to take advantage of a bonus cash offer from the GM Card. Otherwise, I would have waited till March. There is a LOT of inventory on the lots and in the pipeline so I think incentives will likely get better in March and thereafter.

I've decided to roll the dice and wait, the rebates are not going to be any worse. My guess is they will be better or the same anyways.

I hope March will be good as I hope to be picking mine up next month sometime! With current incentives i'm just a hair shy over my target. C'mon GM!

I agree^^ why would you purchase a vehicle that your not satisfied with the power.. You should easily be able to tell if it's powerful enough for you on the first test drive
