iOS vs MyLink

I know that it seems like this topic gets beat to death, but I figured that I would ask. I'm thinking about making the shift from Android to iPhone and was wondering how well iOS plays with MyLink. Has anyone ran into any issues? I'm not worried about extras like text messaging (I've already seen that thread) and I've read up on the potential for Apple's CarPlay coming to 2014's (hopefully). I'm wondering about how it plays with the current features (contact access, voicemail access, ect) that MyLink already does.

I have an iphone, the contacts, voice mail and iTunes plays well. Can't seem to get pandora to work but, I havent tried very hard to figure it out.

P.s. I had android previously to iPhone, you'll be suprised how little customization iOS has I think I'll be going to a galaxy s5 instead of an iPhone 5s in the next few months.

Iphone 5 here. No issues, Bluetooth streaming works flawlessly

+1. Some features only work with USB attached, while others work Bluetooth. Pandora works with USB attached.

On my I phone Pandora works both ways, better plug in, but for a quick trip streams fine.

what android do you have? i think if you're reading forums and like to customize stuff you wont enjoy the iphone as much as android. i have both, and both work fine with the exception of reading texts and artwork display. i really hate that i can't favorite local media on my phone on mylink.

Pandora works with bluetooth and through usb. If you want full functionality, though (thumbs up, etc.) it has to be plugged in to usb. When it's plugged in, you can actually store channels as favorites, which is nice.

Thanks for clarifying.

I have an iphone 4S with current iOS and so far bluetooth calls, music, etc.,seem to work very well. That's all I really need and care to use. Mainly my music but it's nice to take a call now and then. It's my 1st vehicle with phone integration.

I have an iPhone 5C, no issues with MyLink. What the other posters said is true IRT USB and Pandora. You do not get Siri Eyes Free through the steering wheel, but you can hit the home button on the phone and use Siri that way if you are so inclined. One piece of advice, wait for MyLink to sync up to your phone BEFORE you do anything with the radio, otherwise the bluetooth will not work in my experience.

Thanks for the great feedback! I'm probably going to make the jump to iOS (yes, Android is more customizable, but everything else that I have is an Apple product, so the integration will be more streamlined). Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard of any rumors of GM potentially retrofitting current model year vehicles (2014) with CarPlay when they finally release the capability? It would seem like a great fit for the touchscreen system that is in the Silverado/Sierra

I am an apple guy. Just been that way cause mom was always big on apple products. She always says she regrets not investing in apple stock when it first became avaliable and was worth barely anything. But back to the topic at hand, I haven't had any issues at all with iOS integrating with my Sierra infotainment system. Works really well and they play nice together. Much better than my dad's 2011 Lincoln navigator, my phone hates his car haha. I hope CarPlay becomes avaliable with the 2014s and I hope the iPhone 6 comes out soon. I am due for an upgrade and want to do so

you have to have your phone plugged in via usb to the truck to make the pandora app work. Something about Apples bluetooth api restrictions.

I have an iphone 5 and I find it works well with the Intellilink. Connects every time I get in without a hitch. Streams music fine via bluetooth from the Google Music app and other music apps.

Can anyone get navigation app on iphone 5s to give you turn by turn navigation when phone connected to Bluetooth and radio playing?

I thought it would give you turn by turn while radio on apps like google maps, waze or mapquest none see to work unless I put it on aux mode with no radio
