Took my truck into the woods this weekend. Found out that the method grids love to collect mud and rocks in the fake beadlock groove. Enough to significantly screw up the balance until you hose them clean.

That's where I got all of my information from and it said the same thing, minor trimming that's why I went with the set up. I'm hitting front and rear even after metal trim.

When do you rub? Is it only when doing some sharp turning? Or does it rub every bump you hit and normal turning? I really like the look of the 12" wide wheels. I still have not pulled the trigger this week. I am so torn on what to do.

It rubs on hard turns when I'm going slower and if my wheels are turned if I'm going in to my driveway or over a speed bump. I love the look of the truck without the lift, that's why I'm so hesitant on putting a lift on it. Like I said I did have to do some metal trimming as well to get it to not rub on even small turns.

So on the hard turns it is hitting the fender or the UCAs? I like the look too...A LOT.....I spoke to a guy yesterday with a 20X12 -44 on 33X12.5 with only a 2" front level and he said he did not trim at all and that he can get by with normal driving, just absolutely no U-Turns. So you trimmed the bumper metal or just the fender metal? I'm undecided on which route to take.....I LOVE the look of the 20X12. I will most likely go this route and throw on a 1.5" body lift.....hopefully that will solve the rubbing issues.

Do you think a 305/50 would solve the rubbing issues? (32X12)

No UCA hitting at all. I'm hitting the front bumper and inside corner of the body at hard turns or over bumps. If I do any u-turns it has to be at least 3 Lanes of road other then that I don't have any issues at all. I would also say it depends on the type of tire you are gonna put on. I'm running the federal couragia M/T and I think that's one of my problems. I would say if I went down to a 32x12.5 I would clear no problem.

Great info man, thank you. I planned on running the same exact tire, but I am also looking at 305/50 Hankook ATs as well as 295/55 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

You are also only running a 2" level in front right?

Yeah, it's a Rough country 2" level. If you want I can take some pics of exactly where I'm rubbing and PM you.

Sure, that would be great! I think I am going to pull the trigger today regardless. Just trying to decide on tire size and whether or not to purchase a 1.5" bodylift while I am at it. Thanks for helping me out.

305/50r20 hankooks here. Great tire for the money. Minimal noise.

Does this look like excessive camber to anyone else? I just noticed the inside edges are wearing after only 2000k miles

Supposedly "within spec" but in starting to doubt my dealer more and more

I'm running 295/55R20 Ridge Grapplers on a 2.25" level with MINOR rubbing at full lock on the carpeted fender wells. I could just zip tie it back and it will fix it but I'm just lazy. I just don't turn it to full lock. I'm sure the 1/4" extra lift I have over a 2" isn't that big of a difference. I'd just go with 295/55R20 if I were you. Body lifts are also a pain to install for what you really get out of them. You also have that gap at your hitch and sometimes your tow hooks have to be removed and relocated. Just not worth it in my opinion.

From those angles it does look like a slight negative camber but it also might be excessive toe out or combo of both. I'd just take it to a legit alignment shop and have them check it

    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE. We're not going down the location rabbit hole. I'm aware of what economic migration is. I've lived in four states including Texas.   It's what "Purchasing Power" means.   I'm not telling you what I think. I'm telling what the government, your government, data shows.   It wasn't an argument. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a statement of FACT. You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion. Your not entitled to your own facts. If you and I were, they wouldn't be facts.    fact /făkt/   noun Knowledge or information based on real occurrences. "an account based on fact; a blur of fact and fancy." Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed. "Genetic engineering is now a fact. That Chaucer was a real person is an undisputed fact." A real occurrence; an event. "had to prove the facts of the case." • Probably a one and done post, but do you have a CEL on the dash? Was having issues with my transmission, fortunately only a week, and it turned out to be the transmission harness. Valve body was in good shape, so new harness with all the sensors attached, new fluid, and filter. Seems to have worked so far?
    • Two interesting tidbits of information which are NOT related were just released.   One, regarding the possible thrust bearing issues / engine failures with the 3.0. Demonworks just did a segment in which they believe they may have found "a" or "the" cause of thrust bearing failures: A missing thrust bearing. If the engine doesn't have all its thrust bearings from the factory, the missing bearing can cause extra play which ends up destroying a nearby thrust bearing which then sends metal through the engine.       Of other importance, Lake Speed Jr released some interest information regarding oil weight selection for the 3.0. Comparisons of:   AcDelco 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w30 Mobil 1 ESP x4 0w40. Mobil Delvac 5w40   Spoiler alert: The Mobils are PAO Ester -base and the ACDelco is a Group III base. Mobil shows lower wear in their tests for similar weights. Additive packages between 20-30-40 weight ESP's appear to be the same, but only 0w20 is Dexos D licensed. Wear is even more reduced with 30 and 40 weight ESP although all perform very well and resist shear and provide very similar viscosities within temperature operating ranges in the 3.0.   There are even more surprises, so just go watch it.
    • Hello Guys I'm new to the form,         I just put a 7-inch Rough Country lift on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 and I also put a Borla exhaust on it. But I noticed when I'm in park or in neutral and then I rev my truck up really quick there is a bad click noise and I think it's coming from the motor somewhere. Anyways I got a video of it I will attach below I was just wondering if you guys think its rod knock or lifter tick or something like that because I know the AFM kind of made the lifters weak on these trucks.       Thanks!!!!! • We’ll have to agree to disagree. I didn’t experience or know anyone who had a decent car after 100K miles in the 60s through the 80s that were daily commuter vehicles. Unless they were collector vehicles. Of course things cost more due to inflation. But we also make more money. The biggest money drains these days are things people think they need today versus what we require back in the day. Like cell phones and internet as examples. Another example is where you live. Cost of living varies from state to state. I would need twice the money to live in NJ vs Texas in retirement. The car you recently purchased was less than my first car with inflation at 3000$ in 1973. I didn’t have air, electric windows, cruise etc. Purchasing power is equivalent, you just have to do the research.
